BRIDES BEWARE!!!!! This is most unprofessional hair salon I have ever encountered in my entire life. Tania is the individual we worked with on the day of my friends wedding. We appreciated the fact that they were able to take us on such short notice for my friends wedding, and loved the fact they had good reviews. Are these reviews fake?? Tania, the thief, had quoted my friend a certain price for hair and makeup prices. When we went to pay, those prices were significantly higher than what she had told her. Tania stated she feels there was a miscommunication because she told the bride that those were where the prices started. She stated the makeup was so expensive because she used fake eyelashes that probably cost $2, which NOBODY asked for, and the brides mother actually declined having the lashes put on. So lets say this was true, that the prices started where she quoted the bride, then all of us would have paid a different price, except we paid $90 for hair, and $118 for makeup (bridesmaids and mother of the bride). All the same price, all girls with different length of hair, and again, the mother declined the eyelashes and had short hair. Before I get into the brides deposit, let me tell you there was no primer put on our eyes. Our eye makeup didn't last through the whole night, and our hair was not pinned enough to hold the entire night. Now lets discuss the brides deposit!!! The bride put down $400 CASH (Tania stated everything needed to be paid in cash or check and written out to her, not the salon. Shall the IRS be contacted as well? you do weddings every weekend, and we easily dropped $2k, that's a lot of untaxed money in your pocket Ms. Tania) After we paid and got into the limo, the bride forgot to grab the deposit. She called the salon while we were in the limo to tell Tania she forgot to get her deposit back. Tania said, no problem, just continue on with your wedding day and we'll get it back to you once your wedding is over. No issues what so ever with that. However, the brides wedding was November 7th, 2015, and it is now February 1st, 2016. Where is her $400?!?!? She still hasn't received it!!!! The bride has contacted the salon, and Tania on her cell phone numerous times with no response. So as a bridesmaid and friend of the bride, I helped her out by messaging this salon on FB. This was Tania's response when I messaged her regarding this deposit "We will call her directly and take care of anything outstanding balance and of course again I need it to talk to he directly over the phone and in person. This will be handled with Kristen , just because we have made the deal with her. Tania" The bride never received this phone call Tania stated the would make, then she actually contacted the salon and her cell phone after this numerous times again. All of these messages on FB (I can post the entire conversation if people want it) was taken place on January 15th, 2016. Enough time has gone by with her not getting her deposit and this is unacceptable, unprofessional, and just WRONG! Next stop is the BBB. BRIDES BEWARE OF THIS SALON!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!!!! TANIA IS...
Read moreUPDATE necessitated by inconsistent services (July 2025): I never-ever-ever should have returned to Lincoln Park Hair Salon this past June & early July. Peggy has ruined my long thick dark curly hair for months to come, causing me intense anguish & lost time & money at other salons in attempts to repair the damage that she inflicted upon me. Last December, I received a decent haircut from her, though admittedly, I was forced to return to request more layering cut into my long (past shoulder-length) curls. When I returned in June for a trim, she committed the same error of failing to respect my wishes for considerable layering of my long curls. So once again, I was forced to return in early July. Since then, I have been anguished & despairing over the senseless shape that Peggy created out of my beautiful curls-- mangy & scraggly in the back with a heavy curtain of curls hiding my face in the front. The stylists to whom I went for repair of her damage were appalled by the strangely incohesive cut that she inflicted upon me. I can never recover the time, money, effort, or trust wasted upon the plainly stupid services by Lincoln Park Hair Salon.
Original review (December 2024): Extraordinarily extra-special care & attention from Peggy Breton, to whom I shall remain devoted for as long as I reside in Chicago! Peggy's exquisitely applied "glaze" ("vernis" en français) ensured that my dark & densely curly hair was the shiniest, softest, & most manageably tangle-free as it's ever been. Even more impressive was her angelic patience & remarkable attentiveness to detail as she wet-cut then dry-cut my curls with masterful artistry. My curls will accept no substitute for Peggy! Additionally, an unexpected perk of my visits to Lincoln Park Hair Salon has been Peggy's heavenly head massages as she has worked her magic on me. My suggestion would be to visit Lincoln Park Hair Salon when one is not rushed, in order to maximally enjoy...
Read moreI had high hopes for this salon. But, it was a complete epic failure. A week ago I was there as a potential new client for a consultation with the pretentious owner Tania. She was not very welcoming. More like very closed off and judgy in her demeanor and body language. I was promised that I was going to receive a price quote and her availability for a single process color and full head of highlights as well as a cut. A week later and I have not received a thing. She also informed me it would take up to 12 hours. Yes, it is time consuming in one session. But, I have been coloring my hair since 1990 and it has never taken 12 hours. Maybe the most 3 - 4. She also mentioned I must purchase all the products at her salon and must do a strict regimen to help with the hair's integrity. Keep repeating herself that it could be $200 or more worth of products I would have to purchase. She was trying to intimidate me I think questioning if I can afford the maintenance and cost. Which I could. I told her that. One thing I will not do is beg you for your time or a price quote. She is overrated, fake in my opinion and not friendly. Kinda glad this didn't work out. Saved myself from receiving work from those who are just phoney and arrogant in their services...
