The goods: Food is ok. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Breakfast sausage was dry. Our server was friendly. Looks like they keep the place cleaned & sanitized. Nice outdoor seating. About 5-6 tables set up.

The bads: There was a couple next to us who we were told were regulars that was so loud & obnoxious. We were asked to leave right after we paid the bill because there were people waiting by a different server (our server was an angel). Here's why that rubbed me the wrong way. It hasn't even been an hour since we sat down, we still had some coffee we wanted to finish, we were having a nice time, we literally got our bill back not a minute before & they way she said it "not to rush you but there are people waiting for a table" really ruined the moment. But what really upset me was that they did not ask those regulars to leave & they were truly disruptive & waited on hand & foot & there before us. I did not like that at all. It was that we were now overstaying our welcome when honestly, we were about to leave anyway. We would never be that kind of customer & stay long after we were done. I get it, it's COVID time & there are time limits to seating but they need to be transparent about that more respectfully.

I wish nothing but the best for this business and I hope they treat other customers the same as their regulars but unfortunately I will not be returning because now I'll feel rushed & I'll be anxious that right after I pay the bill there's going to be someone immediately telling me I have to leave because people are waiting. Not an experience I want...

Ordered from Uber eats so I know that some quality gets lost when ordering delivery BUT I honestly don’t understand how the ratings for this place were so high. My omelette came and I got the veggie, and the veggies were not cooked at all and it was swimming in water. Also the fruit cup had mold on one of the cantaloupe pieces, which was disappointing because at first glance it looked really nice, a good selection of fruits. But the fact that it was growing something really put me off, I thought maybe it was the rind but it was furry so couldn’t have been that. Also the potato salad, while there was not anything technically wrong with it, was inedibly sweet and also watery. Had to just throw it away: the wrap I ordered looks decent but am saving it for lunch so hopefully that works out better. Overall very disappointed. Will not be ordering again.

Also lol at the response. There are clearly photos. So you could have just looked at them. Would have just excepted an apology or a no response at all, but this condescending attitude is pretty immature from a restaurant owner. I also said that my own preference wasn’t geared toward the potato salad, and said it was fine but instead you needed to throw an insult in. The wrap was fine but this response definitely didn’t redeem anything. I also work in the restaurant business and would never react that way. So cool, good for you. Glad you got that off...

This place was what our neighborhood has always been missing - an outstanding, friendly and very tasty diner! I had a baby right before the pandemic began, so I was in lockdown with a newborn. This was great at first, but sometimes you really need to get out! So when Chicago started opening up again, this became my place very quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful whether I am juggling a baby while I am trying to eat or I am sitting for hours drinking coffee while working. When I heard that indoor dining was closing, I went there everyday I could to support them, and now I try to stop in regularly for coffee and a donut or takeout. They have great coffee - Dark Matter. Food-wise, they carry Do Rite donuts, which are the best. They have the BEST corned beef hash I have ever had. I probably eat it once a week. Besides that, I really like their Dash-wich breakfast sandwich and my husband loves the Route 66 Burrito.

Right now, Dash is a Christmas wonderland with a tree, Christmas Village, local goods for purchase, and lots of decorations.

This place is amazing, and it is just what the neighborhood needs. The owners and whole staff are so friendly and it truly feels like home! I really encourage everyone to try it and...

Stopped in here for the first time today. Officially my new favorite breakfast spot. The servers are awesome, food was amazing, and atmosphere was the cherry on top. Once the place died down a bit we were able to have a convo with our server - Liz. Liz told us the story of how this location of Dash of Salt & Pepper opened - truly incredible and you love to hear it. Old school neighborhood diner feel with delicious food. Like seriously delicious food. Soup of the day was to die for, ill be craving it in the days to come for sure. Green line omelette was delish.. the pancakes were dangerous. Oh and if you are a hot sauce lover... there is a hot sauce wall (I am a hot sauce lover!) If you have never been here I highly recommend it - Say hi to Liz & Wendy! Keep up the awesome work <3

Had by far the best experience thus far while trying to just find a place to have a yummy breakfast at. The restaurant itself was immaculate, greeted and seated immediately… on a busy Sunday morning! Waitress, Brandy was the best part, she had an amazing personality and an even better sense of humor. She was taking care of the whole restaurant by herself, all while making it look effortless. Kudos to you!!!!! Best customer service ever. And the food? Forget about it! We all ordered a little something different but here are our must try: the coffee, yes!! Corn beef hash is delicious, coconut French toast was amazing, even the SOUP. All in all, this restaurant is a must!! Give Brandy a vacation and a massive raise! Kudos to all!!!!
