I went to this park during a snow day because I heard it was a good spot to go sledding. And yes, the people were right! lol We parked along the opposite side of the park and had to trek to the Halsted side cause I guess that's where the hill is clear of tall grass and plants. It was really nice to know we could do this in the city and not have to drive out to the burbs to get to a forest preserve with a hill to be able to sled. There were so many people at the park. I did feel as of the air quality wasn't the greatest since the park is right off of Halsted and there was a ton of traffic. Read moreWe've been going there for many years and it has always been a lot of fun. I go to their low impact aquatic swimming class which is really exciting and excellent workout for someone like me who has a lot of injuries. The bathroom's could definitely use a drain system because the water sits and it gets really filthy and sometimes you have no choice but to walk through the puddles in the shower area and locker area. Some of the lockers where you put your lock on are broken and bent. They move the workout center upstairs which is OK because they have an elevator, but a lot of the machines are broken. Read moreI have a love/hate relationship with this park. My kids play baseball here. I coach baseball here. I help take care of the baseball fields. I love the community. I love watching the diversity of culture in this park. On the flip side, I don't like that this park is occupied by a group of homeless men who are constantly drinking alcohol and sleeping in the park. We have played games where these men are passed out behind the backstop. I hate explaining this behavior to teams visiting us. Why this behavior is accepted at this park...
