Never heard of Freddie's but I'm on a pizza mission here in Chicago. So upon my search results from google, I did some investigating to see if it's worth a visit. I'm willing to go again and try something else, they have other items that I want to test. I love milkshake so the fact they make them by hand and not from a ice cream machine is huge. Also they have flavored ice slushy drinks as well, and from the Youtube video I saw, you can get some Alcohol or even CBD put in the ice slushy drinks. That chocolate cake is also on my list, I need to confirm for myself if its worth multiple trips.
Now let's get to the food I ordered. The pizza is too soft, I like a nice crust it doesn't have to be super hard crispy but I like a crispier crust so don't misunderstand that. So for me if you are gonna have a super soft crust then that sauce better be extraordinary! it was not. It's not an awful pizza, but it's just not a wow, I need to hit up Freddies for pizza either, it works OK. But not for taking home the pizza failed my most important test, the reheat experience, talking about dried up desert style. It wasn't too bad the night before, so I was praying it would reheat well and it didn't. It was super dry just flabby dough and cheese in the reheat case dried dough. So for those with complaints of the sauce on the pizza not being enough I can say those complaints are valid. Ok another thing I want to say. They claim to make everything from scratch well, those chicken wings aren't made from scratch no way on earth. They get them from a Restaurant store that supplies a lot of the food joints here in Chicago. I have been there and I have tried the wings and those are the same wings, I would be mind blown if they were to tell me those are made in house. I wouldn't believe it unless they showed me personally. Also the bbq sauce they provide for the wings well that's not all that great either, almost taste like it came from a bottle. Everything isn't all bad, loved the salad, it came in huge bowl, almost way too much salad I think it's enough for 3 people to have a nice small amount. I ordered fries as well. Happy to say they got that right, the fries are nice at Freddie's. Overall at best Freddie's is a 3 but for me this place is just OK! Now if and when I go back and I find something I will be willing to edit my score! promise on that. I am going to update once I try something else. As far as the staff, everyone was on their business doing what they were supposed to do. As to why I am giving them a little lower score? It is counter personnel. Why do places higher people with bad attitudes and energy the guy at the counter had a crappy attitude, it was very subtle, he wasn't rude or said anything but you can tell he was on his monthly deal, making those I'm irritated with you looks, Y'all know what I'm talking about. Like we were asking for too much or bothering him by asking for something, as if he didn't like the way we ordered. It wasn't just with me either, I happened to be standing at the counter and I watched him interact with other customers it was the same pissy energy. Service for me is important and when you have employees that have crap energy they bring that energy to your establishment and dish it out to everyone that comes into your business, Hire better employees find people with great positive energy. I'm not the type of person to claim that an organization is discriminating against anyone. However, this organization is extremely unfair with their delivery policies. Typically, when I order anything from here the delivery person would either bring the order to my door or to the building lobby. Yes, the building has a lobby and a security guard. So, I ordered a pizza from Freddie's Pizza & Pasta Parlor online service.7/28/2016. I wrote in special instruction to deliver the pizza to the apartment door. One of their workers called me and basically said they refuse to deliver the pizza to my apartment door, and that I would have to come outside to the driver’s car and get the pizza. I then realize that wasn’t exactly fair and didn't know the exact reason why I would have to leave the safety of my home to get a pizza from this delivery man. So, I called back and ask for the manager of the establishment, which this "manger" (the woman who called and said she was not delivering the pizza) said she was. So I asked her a few question such as what is the General manager/assistant names and could I have their contact information. I then inquired into why is it that I am paying a delivery fee if I have to help the delivery man deliver the pizza. She then told me that I lived in that area and how that area is dangerous. I then told her that is not acceptable for you to change policy because you're delivering to a certain area, and how that is discrimination. The worker suddenly got very rude on the phone with me, and told me how she going to cancel the order, and began talking to me as if i wasn't even a person.
Terrible service and I won't be ordering from this restaurant ever again. I don't think anyone should ever spend their money to get treated as horribly as I have. Also, she claims she cancelled the order, but I am pretty sure that she stole my money off my debt card, and because this person is a notorious liar she will say i cancelled...
Read moreI came into the restaurant and one of staff member was extremely rude to me picking up my deserts . A young white girl brown dark hair . She yelled , insulted me , attempted to over talk me , no effort in printing my invoices correctly & she could not take feedback. I was explaining my two simple orders, & how I needed to pay for them separately . She printed them on the same receipt on her own and screamed at me . I didn’t deserve to be yelled at or treated as if I was not a valuable customer with a need . I tried to explain what I needed slowly and I did more than once even to the young man who was helping me before she stepped in. I wash rushed and when I noticed the mistake this woman had no care to give me a proper invoice . She made excuses ,& treated me like trash. I’ve never had this experience coming here ever! . I’d never want to someone be spoken to as such and accusing me of not placing my order in advance . You should never assume a customer knows everything about phone orders . You could have easily listened better and fixed my request . Instead, I was spoken to very in a racist tone , & no care to help , scolded me talked at me , there was no real effort of customer service . I felt rushed and over looked. I can take my kindness and business somewhere else . She told me what she could not do rather than “how can I help you . “When I noticed she was yelling at me she made an excuse and said that it was loud in the eatery , which was not true . I pray you get some training and reflect on how you could have handling this easy transaction better to a paying customer . Respect is key and the Customer is right .
