Pancho Pistolas is truly a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations. The restaurant offers an intimate, elegant atmosphere that feels both cozy and welcoming, perfect for a night out with friends or a quiet dinner. Despite a short wait for a table, the experience was absolutely worth it. The vibe was vibrant yet relaxed, with a subtle touch of charm that made the evening feel special from the moment we walked in.
As for the food, I ordered the Al Pastor Gorditas, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. The gorditas were perfectly golden-brown, crispy on the outside but soft and tender within. The al pastor filling was a feast for the senses, with its deep red hue, signaling the rich, smoky marinade. You could almost taste the layers of flavor just by looking at it.
Each gordita was topped with a colorful assortment of fresh ingredients. Crisp lettuce, a juicy slice of tomato, and creamy avocado brought brightness and freshness to the dish. A generous dollop of sour cream added a smooth, tangy richness that balanced the flavors beautifully.
But the real magic happened with the first bite. The al pastor was tender and juicy, each bite bursting with a smoky, sweet, and spicy blend of flavors. The gordita shell offered a satisfying crunch, while the cool lettuce and tangy sour cream cut through the richness of the pork, creating the perfect contrast. The avocado added a buttery texture, and the fresh tomato provided a refreshing, juicy finish. Every element worked together in harmony, creating a truly flavorful experience.
This meal was the perfect way to end the night, satisfying and packed with authentic Mexican flavor. Pancho Pistolas really knows how to elevate traditional dishes and create an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a true culinary gem...
Read moreI stopped into this place 10-22-2022 for lunch. I used to visit place frequently with friends and family almost 1-2 times per month. Nonetheless I remembered the fish tacos were good so I decided to order them despite how I feel about Tilapia. At the same time I was seated there was a trio of Hispanic people that walked in behind me and were seated. We had the same waitress and I put my order in before they did but I am not sure if the waitress entered my food last or not. At this point we are the only 2 tables in the restaurant waiting for food as the rest of the restaurant has cleared out and is empty. It’s about 3-330pm. She bring out my frozen margarita which is still good then all of a sudden the other tables food comes out. 15 minutes later my food comes out. I am thinking to myself how is this possible? When my food is sat in front of me I immediately notice that my beans has cheese in them, I notified the waitress when ordering no cheese in the beans. She begins to go back and forth with me while I am showing her the gooey cheese in my beans and on my fish taco about how there is no cheese. I’m allergic so I am definitely conscious about this. As I am eating I begin to notice my waitress favor the party of 3 more than me. Additionally she starts eating her own meal, this I had a problem with because all of the other waitresses that were hungry only ate because they had absolutely no tables. Even though she started eating, that wasn’t my issue, my issue was the fact that she didn’t sanitize her hands and then deal with her customers. The beans were good but the fish was over cooked. The only thing that saved the fish was the...
Read moredo not order from this restaurant they will get your order wrong and have terrible customer service. i wish i could give this place 0 stars. i ordered delivery from this place via postmates. i ordered cheese chimichangas and explicitly put only cheese in the notes. i get the chimichangas and start eating them and immediately taste chicken--not only is this an issue because i ordered cheese chimichangas, not chicken, but i am also severely allergic to chicken and carry an epipen because of it. i call the restaurant after taking benadryl to the let them know of the issue and carmen answers. she says she doesnt know what happened because she wrote cheese chimichangas but puts me on hold to talk to her boss, frank, the alleged owner. then she comes back to the phone and says they cant help me because she postmates didnt tell them i ordered cheese only. pause for a second and realize carmen has already told me that she wrote cheese only. she then says my only option is to come to the restaurant and bring what they brought me back to them and pick up the correct order. mind you the whole reason i ordered delivery is because i live in the loop and dont have a car, so now she expects me to find a way to get thete, pay to get there and come fix what they messed up. i guess i should stick with restaurants in the loop because clearly they havent gotten the idea of customer service...
