Went there today around 5:30pm with my wife, my 7 year old daughter, 5 year old son and my 23 month son. Not crowded at all, matter of fact we were the only table with my wife and 3 kids around that time and later came in with 3 more tables all small tables tho. Got seated, pick 2 appetizer and 4 other dishes and 3 drinks. it was a older waiter which the way he act is kinda not professional to me, i work for waiter for 12 years in chinese restaurant for part time, so i can already distinguish he dont have much experience. When he taking our order, he not even familiar with the menu, but its ok, we pointed out pictures and after he ask his colleague we got the orders in. Wait time was fast, but the first dish it came out was wrong. He reorder for us and then mention he is new to the restaurant so not good at the system to place the order, no big deal. After all the dishes start coming out and we start eating, food was below average, 1 of the dishes is too salty, and one other dishes which was a shredded pork dish and the pork was poorly shredded. I ate at this restaurant half years ago and it was much much much better back then, it was a full 5 star back then if i have to rate them. But thing gone down hill now. And the waiter dont even check our tea pot to refill or ask is everything is ok. When we done, the bill came, they are charging the tea pot for 1.50 which i dont mind if they charge tea, but most chinese restaurants dont charge tea at night, but it's alright. But then they also charge the tofu wraps for the shredded pork dish for 2.50. the menu didnt say it have extra charge and we didnt even ask for the wraps, the waiter brought us the pork dish with the wraps on the side and told us u can eat with or without the wraps, didnt mention any extra charge! Back then they never charge extra on the wraps and i been ordering this dish everything i come dine here, if theres extra charge then he should have told us before he lay down the wraps. And here come the fun part! the bill was 78 dollars with some change but then i spotted a service charge of 18%, 14 dollars and some change for service charge! Dude.... we are 2 adult with 3 kids... if we are 6 people then yea it make sense, but 5 people? 3 of them are just kids......Really? And the service is terrible with the new hire and mistake were make! No apologies and yet service charge. Not that i cant afford it or being cheap but it just dont feel right to me and they dont deserve 18% of tips period! and my tonight experience with them i will say 10% at the most. But yes, i dont want to say a word, i wrote service and food is terrible and will never come dine here ever again on the receipt and left. Bottom line, we felt that they are targetting their own chinese people, thinking we are bad tipper, well i prove that wrong tonight, i gave u the full 18% tips which u totally dont deserve, and yet giving this long S review to you to enjoy, thank you so much for ruining my family...
Read moreHad a little time to get some food during a long lunch break and found this place. Rule of thumb is the places that still look like they could be little holes in the wall are gonna have some really good eats.
I got soup dumplings bc I get them whenever I can and they were exceptional. The wrapper was slightly thicker than some places I've had it but it was very enjoyable. I like it when the thicker parts of the dough have that chewy texture to them. They provided vinegar and soy, and chili oil for dipping. I think I forgot to ask about mustard.
Secondly I got the beef tendons. For what they charge I got SO much and ended up having leftovers which were so delicious reheated. I got them cold, they were fresh and chewy and the sauce / oil they served on them was salty to perfection. It came with sliced onions and a lot of fresh cilantro, and after mixing everything together for a perfect bite with their white rice was a life changing moment.
Everything was amazing. Also for their fresh soy milk, it was slightly sweet and creamy and kind of vegetal but in a good way? Like you can tell they used fresh soybeans that were green and crisp. Absolutely lovely.
Ended up going back the next day for more of the tendons and I got a traditional Chinese pan cake. It had the best flaky thin dough that had been stretched and rolled back on itself and then spiraled and pan fried I assume. It was light and airy and easy to pull apart. They served it with oyster or hoisin sauce, not sure but it was a great salty sweet combination.
10/10 would go back will always recommend. I love places that have more traditional cuisine and this is one of...
Read moreTucked away from the noise of the city, Potsticker House feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere is intimate and serene, dim lighting, warm wooden accents, and the gentle hum of quiet conversation make it the perfect escape after a long, busy day. The service was prompt and unobtrusive, giving us the space to relax and unwind.
We started with the Shanghai-style pork soup dumplings, which arrived steaming in a bamboo basket. Each dumpling was delicate and pleated like a small work of art. The moment you bite in, you're rewarded with a burst of hot, savory broth, rich and comforting, like a slow-simmered stock with hints of ginger and scallion. The pork filling inside was tender and well-seasoned, with a perfect balance of salt and umami. We had to pace ourselves, or we would've devoured the whole basket in seconds.
Next came the Shanghai-style stir-fried noodles with mushrooms, bok choy, and pork. The noodles had a satisfying chew, coated in a deeply flavorful sauce that clung to each strand. The mushrooms were earthy and juicy, soaking up all the savory goodness, while the bok choy added a fresh, crisp bite that balanced the dish. The slices of pork were thin, tender, and infused with that signature wok-charred aroma.
Each dish felt crafted with care, nothing overdone, nothing artificial. Just honest, soulful food. This isn’t your usual takeout-style Chinese spot. Potsticker House feels like being invited to someone’s home for a comforting, homemade meal. I’ll absolutely be back and next time, I’m...
