I try to visit navy pier at least once every time I come to Chicago. It’s a bit touristy but I honestly think that’s part of the charm. There’s plenty of shops and restaurants for you to enjoy, a bunch of rides and attractions and some truly spectacular views of the lake. Last time I went there was even a Temporary Pixar Minigolf that is sadly nolonger there. I personally feel that no trip to Chicago is complete without checking out Navy Pier, and depending on your tolerance for somewhat pricey parking and touristy gift shops you’ll probably agree. Read morePros: Beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the boats. Beautiful view of the city. Access to a variety of boat rides, including the architecture river tour through the city. Lots of places to eat and/or grab a drink. There are a bunch of souvenir shops. Rides for kids and a huge Ferris Wheel. The Rainbow Ice cream place had really good ice cream.

Read moreI visited Navy Pier today between 1pm-3pm. I covered the distance from Trump tower to the pier on foot and it took me 35mins. to reach there. It is free and open outdoor area with numerous seating options, food trucks and breath taking views of the Lake Michigan! Highly recommended.
