If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I were looking for something to bring home to my daughter. He picked up a sippy cup that said Chicago on it to see if it was bpa free (it wasn't). In the process he accidentally knocked over a $4 snow globe type thing along with 3-4 water bottles. We were not horseing around or making a scene, it was a legit accident. We were in the process of picking up and hadn't even been so for more than 30 seconds before one of the employees was urgently calling into a headset about ruined product. She then was muttering to us about having to buy that at 50% off or having to buy something else. We tried to explain it was an accident, but then the manager was right there, also demanding that we pay for it or buy something else, because"that was the rule". Honestly I needed to get something for my daughter and was probably going to buy something either way, but the way we were spoken to left a bad taste. We still wandered around looking for something to buy for like 2 minutes, but I really didn't feel welcome anymore so we decided to leave. We tried to hand the lady $2 on the way out, but she wouldn't take it and made us go to the register instead. Seriously, we could have just walked out of there and they couldn't have stopped us, we were just trying to make it right (even though it was an accident) and even that was a hassle. Shopper beware. It wasn't the concept of paying for something we broke- it was the way we...
Read moreI love the selection they had. Prices were high, but you expect that at a souvenir shop. I love my hoodie and hat. However when I write reviews, I write based on customer service and quality of product/service received. I am a tourist (not local to Chicago). When I kept asking for help, I was completely ignored. Then after picking up a hoodie and hat that was high on rack that required employee assistance, the employee caught an attitude with me for getting it without proper assistance. Then instead of trying to help at that moment, she said you can’t buy anything without buying a mask first. I was using a credit card, so I was not going to swipe my card for 1.99 for a mask then turn around and swipe it again for a 70$ purchase. So I politely asked if I can just get the mask but pay for it when I pay for my souvenirs, she just turned and walked away from me saying no mask no service. That was rude...
Read moreI went to this store last night, the dog side, I accidentally bumped into something and knocked a box off the shelf, I looked at one of the employees and I said sorry, he literally scowled at me like a child. My sister picked up the box, and I told him, we are picking it up and in an angry voice he replied "I can see that" and I replied with I am sorry, he continued to scowl. I told the people who were with me, that I did not want to be in there any more. I then told him, I hope you have a better day. I will not be shopping there ever again if I return to Chicago. That is a poor representation of your business, I hope that you can find nicer employees...
