I don't understand the low reviews but granted there are only three reviews at the time of my writing this. Our family of 10 ordered from IDOF/SALT burgers a variety of items and everybody was happy, satisfied and ate ALL their food. we had three kids under 5 years old and they ate all the SALT burger completely. Kids are the biggest critics.
Someone commented the burgers are small... they are smash burgers, they are average size, what were they expecting? The adults got the double burgers, they were excellent for being smash burgers. The burger meat had tons of flavor, reminiscent of grass-fed beef. I can tell the difference. The onions and sauce really makes the burger shine.
Someone said the fries were thin. Incorrect. They reminded me of McDonalds fries, which is the gold standard of fries, so they were perfect. Were they expecting like chunky steak fries? if so they would've stated steak fries on the menu. We also got the Ghost Pepper fries. Ghost pepper is one of the hottest peppers and it was rightfully hot and spicy indeed. I did enjoy them but some said it was too hot. Overall a great meal for being inside...

We visited Salt Burger at Navy Pier on 10/08/2024 at 7:50 PM, well before their listed closing time of 8:50 PM (as confirmed on Google). Unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of frustrating.
Despite arriving early, we were met with a lack of courtesy from the staff, particularly an employee named Sam, who showed no respect or consideration toward us. His attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, which really soured the visit. The service felt rushed, and it was clear they were more interested in closing up than providing quality service.
Given the prime location at Navy Pier, we expected much better. It’s a shame that such a nice spot was overshadowed by poor service and a lack of respect for customers. We won’t...
Read moreI was excited to try the restaurant because it claimed it was halal. When I asked the worker about if it was halal, he said yes. I then asked if there’s a certificate to confirm, he replied with: “you either trust me or you don’t”. I was honestly shocked by his response, not only was it useless but also why wouldn’t a halal restaurant have a certificate if it was actually halal? We then thought we should just ignore the guy and see what the menu has to offer, so we asked the lady that works there. She was also rude and said “we’re muslim and we eat it”, as if that was enough of a reason to eat the food. Overall, the service was bad and I would have appreciated better treatment to try...
