Porchlight Music Theatre — Attraction in Chicago

Hmm let’s see- it’s July 2022 and 75% of the country is vaccinated, boosted… and has COVID. But the medical experts at Porchlight have decided I can’t bring my daughter to a production because she’s medically not eligible for the vaccine. And a negative test and a mask isn’t sufficient! That’s not a medical policy, it’s a political one (and before you assume, I’m both a progressive AND work in healthcare).

Our group enjoyed a Porchlight Music Theatre musical at the Ruth Page art center. The showing of Merrily We Roll Along was well done. The multimedia set provided a means to explain this complex musical. The venue is small and intimate. It will take climbing stairs to enter the theater. I had a great evening of theater here. The show was world class and I enjoyed my experience all around. The theater itself is easy to find on Dearborn street in Chicago's Gold Coast. It's well marked. I took the El, so I don't know what the parking situation is, but I do know that there are parking lots up the street. The lobby is bright and the staff is friendly. You'll need to go upstairs or downstairs from the lobby for the restroom...
