This review is going to be specifically about Mory Tafreshi, a gem consultant and store manager at Wedding Bands & co.

He had done the engagement ring for my older cousin a couple years back, and I was referred by her to go and see him.

Before I had gone in to see Mory, my girlfriend and I had been into some other jeweler shops on Jewelers Row downtown. the experience was fine, and the stones we saw were all pretty. What didn't sit right with me was the lack of personal attentiveness from virtually every shop we had gone in to. After leaving each one, we did not receive any phone calls or emails for DAYS. I understand that this process is not normally one that is done in a week, but it seemed somewhat off putting that nobody could be bothered to reach back out to us after being in, especially when so many said they would 'be in touch' (also how vague is that?)

From the very moment we went in to see Mory, he was just different. He was warm, conversational, helpful, patient, and VERY smart/experienced.

We did just two visits, the first being my girlfriend trying on some stones and looking at diamonds with different ratios and sizing. (we knew we wanted an oval, but Mory educated us on the importance of ratios when picking an oval size such that it not only covers enough of the finger lengthwise but also width-wise). We learned SO much in our first visit and left with a much clearer understanding of what we wanted.

He told us to come back in in a couple of days and he would order in a couple more Oval shaped diamonds with different ratios and scales on the 4C's chart. How he managed to accumulate five new diamonds for us to look at within a couple days is beyond me, but regardless... there we were back in the store a couple days later with a 'short-list' of stones!

After trying on each of the 5 curated diamonds, my girlfriend narrowed it down to just 2 'finalists'. He had her try them on, let her take them over to the windows to see them in natural light, basically was giving her free reign on experimenting and getting to observe it from every angle. It felt like we really had his trust and he truly wanted us to pick the ring we loved.

the kicker is, after finally picking THE one, Mory grabbed the tiny bag that came in and flipped it over, and her name was literally written on the bag! he KNEW she was going to pick that stone before she even saw it, and was so confident that he wrote her name on bag, and only that one bag. If that doesn't SCREAM experience and emotional intelligence/capacity to really listen and understand what you want, I don't know what does.

THEN. the very same day we picked out this ring, I had told him I wanted to purchase it ASAP and made plans to put a deposit down and get things moving. However, As fate would have it, later that day I tore my Achilles tendon and had to put a hard pause on EVERYTHING while I sorted it out. Mory was patient, expressed concern for my well-being, and worked with me to create a new timeline to get the ring so that I could propose when I was back on my feet. I just cannot say enough good things about the man.

We will certainly be returning to Mory and I would recommend him to literally anyone. Do yourself a favor and just swing by and see him. Tell him you read Mac's review on google so he can know how much I appreciate all his help he has...

After more than 60 years, spanning three generations with our family jeweler in Michigan, it was no small feat to replace them. Due diligence had me pounding the pavement for days until I found Wedding Bands & Co. on 2 N. Wabash Ave. and Mory Tafreshi buzzed me in. From my initial conversation, to setting an appointment for my son to gain an education in diamonds and design protocols, right down to the cordial communications throughout the process, Mory exceeded my grandest expectations! I sought out expertise but instead gained an uncommon sense of ease. The time, the contemplative options, and the imparting of gemology were more than an exercise in good customer service. It was a sincere interest and desire to share his passion of commemorating true love!

When I look back now on that beaming bright day in March 2018, where my son and I shared one of our biggest-to-date “forever moments,” I recognize now that feeling of a new beginning with pride. You know the one! Where a mother guides their child to the next level and then steps back and lets go. This is the moment we live for, hope to be present for, and dream of as they grow. It is imbued with all kinds of specialness of a bond seeded, cultivated, and now matured to be transferred and transformed into a love that words do not seem fit to describe. Letting go was easy. In fact, too easy; because I knew I was entrusting him into the most capable jewelers imaginable! They had my confidence to hold Roosevelt and his fiancée's promise and commitment in highest esteem.

In moments that deeply affirm life, love, and all we hold dear, bedazzled with a token —nothing but the best, is the rule! For all she is to him; how large in her love she makes him feel; how bright they dream their future to be; Wedding Band & Co. is the only way to go! If you aspire to the 4:00 am rollover to your fiancée’s outstretched arm admiring her engagement ring and wondering what more, you can come up with long after you have bent a knee —ask for Mory. Nothing is more bespoken than what they can design...

If we had to use one word to describe Wedding Bands Company by Koorosh Daneshgar it would be OUTSTANDING! When we arrived at WBC, we had already been to local jewelers in the suburbs, chain stores, jewelers row mall, and several other jewelers along jewelers’ row; we had literally seen thousands of rings within a few months including those found online. By now, all rings had begun to look very similar, yet, my fiancé held out hope that I would find that one ring that was ‘It’ for me. When other jewelers were closing for the day, we walked past Koorosh’s store and it was still open for another 30 minutes. Skeptically, we went in and were warmly greeted by The Ring Master himself. There were several beautiful rings in the display, but they weren’t what I had in mind. Koorosh asked me to describe what I wanted and he actively listened while I obliged. He disappeared for a moment and brought back 5 rings, each one more beautiful than the next…any one of them would do! It is important to share that he was literally the ONLY jeweler out of all the establishments that we visited that truly listened to what I was describing and was able to deliver. Koorosh was quick to share that we could customize any ring or build one from scratch. We set up an appointment and returned to begin the design process for our own unique ring. Koorosh had rings available for inspiration and also had suggestions of his own. With our input, Koorosh designed the masterpiece that I had spent so much time searching for. He mentioned that it would be a long process, but the end result was well worth it! The diamonds are of very good quality and sparkle brilliantly…and the setting…well, it’s simply breathtaking!!! We’ve received a myriad of comments on the show-stopping ring and have been handing out Koorosh’s business cards and referring friends and family as we know they will be in good hands with Koorosh’s magnificent works of art and the white glove service of his staff. When you go to his store, ask to see his book and also take time to look at the many drawings of other rings he has created, for Koorosh is truly a master at his talent!
