Of all the Michels I've visited this is by far my least favorite! I went into this location looking for rubber bands literally just RUBBER BANDS! When I entered there was 3 employees near the check out counter talking amongst themselves. I slowly approached because I didn't not want to disturb them if they were discussing a work matter. After I over hear them talking about pets I said excuse me and asked about the item I was looking for. The three associates stare at each other and finally one says we should have some in the tie dye section. The gentleman turns around points the the back and says it's about 4 aisles after the scrapbooking sign... I walk to the back of the store way past the scrapbooking sign I might add and spend 5 minutes searching a wall to finally find what I was looking for. Unfortunately it wasn't the size I needed. So I took the package and walked to the register, when I get to the cashier I ask her if there were rubberbands other places in the store, her response was I don't know but she did take the second to ask the associate next to her. He didn't seem interested and said we may have a rubberbands ball in the back on the other side of the store. Never looked at me or her and was extremely dismissive. When I asked what size it might be he didn't answer me. So I turn to the young lady that was helping me and she again goes I don't know. Now maybe I'm expecting too much but is there no way to search the system, is there no way to contact another associate is there no way to have someone meet me somewhere in the store to help me??? She looks at me and proceeds to ring up my item and asked me if I wanted to go check. (At this point I was ready to leave because Michaels should never be this difficult.) I said no and that I was ready to check out. She must've sense my mood because she apologized BUT still made no effort to help or have anyone else help me.
Needless to say I will NOT be visiting this location again.
Michaels is a place for art and crafts. Where people come to let their expressive side show, where children get to pick out fun project to do with their parents. The staff should be more up beat and active in helping...
Read moreHorrible customer service. It’s the holidays, this is a craft store it’s going to be crowded that’s a given. Only 3 employees working up front and 1 is just manning the line. The other is doing curbside orders so only 1 register besides self-serve card only. I waited well over 10 minuets in line, again it’s the holidays I understand but there was no “thank you for waiting, etc”. I ordered a curbside delivery and I was in the area and it had not been shopped yet. So to save some time I went and got the items myself and waited in line for customer service. I explained that I shopped the order myself to just save some time since I was already here, and would like them to validate my purchase with the curbside device. Took them a long time to figure that out, and I waited so long the employee had left and shopped the order. So they took the items away from me and said I need to wait for her to come up and she’ll hand me the order. Once she came over quite a bit later I said hello just when she had a second I was there for Schawang and her response was “I’ll had it over once I get to it” very rude and didn’t even look at me. I responded “ I said when you have a moment. I apologize I’m not rushing you, jeez” , absolutely no hospitality. Then she handed it off “have a good one” very sarcastically. I took my bag and left. Took 20 minuets just for 2 spools of yarn. Again like I said, it’s the holidays I understand it’s busy but you signed up for this job, customer service is vital in a hospitality/ retail role. Won’t be...
Read moreWhile Michaels is the only local store that carries one of the supplies I use for my business, I will be finding a different solution TODAY. Michaels has been going downhill for a couple years now and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up closed soon. First, an item that they know has gained popularity over the last 2 years has done nothing to increase stock and I end up searching multiple stores and their website only to come up empty. therefore, when I find it in stock, I buy a LOT. I'm there every week or two and my lowest checkout has been about $180, highest over $500. Now they've also joined the Walmart fiasco where no one is at the register to check anyone out and can't be bothered when I look for someone. But when I start the self checkout, someone miraculously appears to stand behind me watching me scan every item. and when I ask them to ring me up, they refuse. So you've saved money by putting in self checkout and laying off employees but the prices have not reflected your cost savings. Michaels is as greedy as Walmart, it's becoming clear they don't care about their customers, and this may just be the next boycott in the works. So while many people spend the amounts I do in one visit, I'm guessing most don't do it 2 to 4 times a month. So if more people like me order directly from the manufacturer and cut michaels out as the middle man, we could save a ton of money AND let another greedy...
