Beautiful lakeside walk. Launch paddleboats, canoes, kayaks from beach around corner. Free public "beach" lakeside access. Check Canandaigua City website for health of the water. 2025 summer was amazingly fresh!
Fun little gift shop open May thru September on the pier. Historic little houses atop the water. Nature abounds with birds, ducks, lots of trout in lake to fish for. Read the plaques by the traffic circle to learn all the history!
Wonderful choices for food. All places creative, delicious restaurants for medium to higher budgets nearby. [My personal caveat is thatNolan's food is meh IMHO] But the rest are all good! Don't miss the ice cream on the corner for dessert ~ you'll sit in a waffle cone. IYKYK...
Read moreNice area near the lake and docks. We brought a picnic lunch. There are some tables and several benches facing the water. There were 2 hot dog stands and also an ice cream shop that sells some boating souvenirs.
In addition to boating, some were there just to fish. I also saw kayak rentals.
We walked around some and saw some historic boat houses.
Near the pier, there is New York Kitchens which has a restaurant, bars, kitchen related shops and also cooking classes. We were there late on Sunday so very little was happening.
Also nearby is a lakeside hotel with both casual and formal dining. They also host large outdoor (under a tent) wedding receptions. It appears the are setup for outdoor wedding ceremonies too. But I've wandered away...
