Store Space Self Storage — Attraction in City of Glen Cove

Store Space Self Storage was highly recommended by my mover, Movin’ & Removin’, who introduced me to Nick and Jackie for my immediate storage needs. Nick was very accommodating and professional. Later I met Jackie, who displayed the same professionalism and was very knowledgeable. They both know that moving is always stressful and emotional, so they helped to make it a more positive experience.

The largest unit was sold out, but Nick was able to find two of the next size units near each other. I appreciated his ability to figure out a creative solution without just saying that my needs couldn’t be met. He was calm, patient and supportive when I was overwhelmed. Additionally, he took the time to explain all the details and fees.

The issues I have with the company is that they prorate your move ‘in’; however, not for the move ‘out’. If you move at the beginning of the month then you pay for the entire month anyway. Also, I understand that there is an administrative fee of $30, but I think it is excessive that it is added to each rental unit. I acknowledge that these are corporate policies and not Nick or Jackie’s decision.

People are quick to complain, but I wanted to take the time to compliment. I hope that management will recognize and commend Nick & Jackie (and maybe at some point adjust their policies) for going above and beyond expectations! I look forward to continuing to work with them and referring...

While the staff may be nice and most of these reviews seem falsified (1 review only) - they had a flood and blamed everyone but themselves. On top of that, they told me to file an insurance claim meanwhile they knew it wouldn't be covered- so why waste my time? They forced me to have insurance and didn't explain what was covered in the beginning. They didn't even explain that they were prone to flooding - others have said this had happened before. On top of that, they cut my lock without my permission. The guy stated they sent out an email.- but I came down there when they did and no one mentioned to me they would have to cut my lock later on. The fact is, I didn't give permission and I always paid on time. Regardless, they are useless to me or anyone for that matter if they can't safely secure items. I don't need a reply back, I wouldn't use your business again. Increasing rent, then blaming everyone else but yourselves for the damage caused doesn't sit right with me. I smell a...

Update 11/17/22 Company was sold over the weekend - without any notice they changed the rent, charged a late fee and didn’t charge our autopay and said we were delinquent out of nowhere. I called a manager immediately who said she needed to review our rent to switch it back and assured me that we wouldn’t be locked out of the unit until we sort this out. I showed up the following day to get products for our customers out of the unit and there was a lock on it.

This transition is a scam and the company and management are straight up liars. I highly recommend moving your contents down the road to Life Storage. We have multiple other units, Jeff is great (the manager there) and it’s 30-35% cheaper for the...
