My son turned 4 this weekend. I was skeptical about hosting the party at this location only because I was biased from previous experience with the way the establishment was while I was a teen, however I thought since it was unded new management and my son insisted on a bowling party it would be better to host in the town we live in (instead of the chester bowling alley) I regret making this decision. Before I booked my party I had asked two questions.1.Did they have a table I could use , and if so can I bring my own cake. 2. was I able to custom decorate a table for my son according to the theme he wanted. I was told yes that I would.get at least 15 min to set up my area, I was told that I could request a corner lane in order to have a table by a wall. When I got there the day of my party, the place was crowded with people due to a function which the workers continued to repeat me "was not suppose to happen" I didnt care that there were many people but I was told due to the "funtion" that was not suppose to happen, I had to wait until 230( which is when guest were suppose to arrive) until I can set up. At 2:30 I would also have to wait for them to clean up my area. I explained to them that I needed a few minutes to decorate a table for the guest they said someone has the lane for another hour and we cant kick them out, and I stated that its poor time managment since they already knew a party was scheduled at 230, i was not apologized to or reassured that it would be handled properly instead I had to stand around while holding a birthday cake and decorations waiting to be guided when they felt it was time even though they had my deposit. As a mom who had invited classmates and had parents I had not met yet,it was embarassing to have to greet them at 230pm and have to decorate and set up at the same time. This place was not ideal for a party. Thr "host" that was suppose to be a help was not. She brought food out before bringing plates and utensils out, after I had asked her to get them several times. One pitcher of soda put out for the first hour even though ai have about 25 ppl there abd had asked for punch and water to be placed out. Also they should have the kids names and shoes sizes in before the date of party to be more organized. Btw when it was time to go to out lanes noone cleaned up or even swept. I had to clear area myself. I would never host another party here again and will be trying chester lanes for another time. Very unorganized, management was rude, and the rest was just messy . Thank God my guest were able to see beyond these issues and my 4 year old was able to not notice any chaos.
