I am super pumped up I found this Diamond in the rough. I heard about it from a friend who was very Satisfied With his experience with the place. So just for something to do with my 10yr old son Max, I decided to take a short ride over to AVALON EXOTICS. It opens at noon. I got there at 12:30. I did NOT leave untill 2:30!! This worker John was so friendly and ridiculously intelligent and he legit talked with my son half of the time. Come to find out John puts on Shows and does birthday parties 🥳! It just so happens Max turns 11 in September! Avalon also custom builds Tanks that are completely self sufficient, meaning you do NOTHING to the tank. For the most part You do not have to clean them! So for Max's birthday I bought him a baby leopard Gecko because they are super friendly they do not get too big and he can handle the lizard every day, plus we grabbed with his own super awesome custom made self sufficient Tank. And all together it was only 320 bucks! I wasn't prepared to take it home yesterday. But Max and I Are extremely excited to get Yoshi (the Gecko) Today!! I gave this place a high rating because of my sons experience with John. He wasn't being a salesmen you could tell John was just a big kid who loved his job ,sharing information And handling the Pets. I recommend Avalon Exotics...

An exceptional experience! While exploring Canalfest I gratefully came upon the entrance to Avalon Exotics; I never knew they existed. I had recently set up a vivarium but had not yet obtained its occupants. I am glad I talked to John first. Unlike other exotic pet stores in the area that I had visited, John spent a considerable amount of time with me trouble shooting issues I had with previous vivarium attempts. He helped me identify issues that I had not thought of and had a variety of solutions, most of which were quick fixes and cost nothing. I discovered that the animals I had previously obtained for vivariums were toxic to each other. Instead of buying their stock from suppliers across the country, they breed most of what they sell and will even introduce you to their breeding pairs. John offered me books from his private collection demonstrating a true dedication to our success and to the health and safety of the animals that he sells. I am presently listening to a chorus of dart frogs which are safely pared with a few Mourning Geckos, all in a perfectly balanced tank. I’ve had my Theodore, a ball python, since April. He unfortunately is underweight and, being a first time snake owner; I was uneducated on those warning signs until it was a touch too obvious that he is too thin. I’ve been in tears about this and researching online has only lead me down too many conflicting streets. I went in to Avalon and ran into John where I essentially spilled all of this information onto him. Never once did he ridicule me about this or make me feel like an awful owner. He instead took the time to educate me about this issue, down to showing me weight charts and holding a healthy weighted BP. He talked to me about this and about the overwhelming community that they have essentially created from their longstanding commitment to inform and produce healthy and happy reptiles. I left feeling more confident and secure that Theo will gain the weight that he needs to (eyes are dry, John) and I automatically knew that this is a community that I want to immerse myself into.
