McCann Ice Arena — Attraction in City of Poughkeepsie

Ice skating rink in Poughkeepsie. Recently started ice skating with the whole family. This place is great for the family as stands are accessible on skates. Kids can have a break while looking at the rink, and we can keep our eyes on them. Also, friends and family spectators can join this way.

Sign in and pay online - recommended! Makes life much easier, especially the first time with all the waivers.

Storage space available for shoes. Mostly small ones, so there's not much space for big bags.

Sharpening and skate rental is available. Also, private room for parties.

Staff is very friendly, but it can get crowded in certain times - that is expected - on weekends mostly. We never had to wait...

I would have given this a better rating if they turned on the heat while we were there for a High School game that we had to pay five dollars to get in. I don’t mind the fee as I understand the operating cost. Pet peeve number two was ordered some snacks and went to pay and noticed I was being charged a convenience fee like it was a credit card transaction and I was paying cash. When I said something to the cashier the response was “most people don’t pay attention to the screen” really? Not cool. As far as the venue the seats all have a great view and it is very clean. Went to a see Sebastian Maniscalco here... the show was excellent, the venue was ok. This place holds 3000+ people but you are a bit packed in and the seats are a bit old and tired. I'd suggest sitting in the center as opposed to either the left or right sections since your view can be obstructed by stage curtains. Parking can be difficult due to the volume of cars. You may want to park a few blocks away and walk, if possible, to avoid...
