The purpose of being at Village Gate was to eat at Salina's Mexican Restaurant, so that is my review. I have eaten here for many years and this is the last time. This restaurant has totally gone downhill since Covid. I have dined here a few times then and it has become worse and worse. The place now has become dirty, the menu has been reduced drastically, the service is extremely slow with one waiter working tonight. Out of four of us, none of our meals were even warm with the rice and beans actually cold. This restaurant used to be completely full on weekend nights, tonight the place was almost empty. Read moreWhere to start, Ugh is not even close, but for those who know it its heyday Village Gate was Very Awesome. Now ugh and it is a shame to see and in my opinion not even sure how ANY business operates in there.
No real foot traffic like it was. At one time it was 2 floors of shops to visit and buy all types of things. Now only bottom floor and those are not many. For those who know yes Yankee Clipper is there and only open Wed thu Saturday.
It is a real shame what has happened to it over the years. Do wish there was away to revitalize it, but unsure how.

Read moreLove Village Gate. There is plenty of parking as well as for the handicapped. Elevator to get those with stair difficulties to the second floor as well as bathrooms for the public on the first floor. A variety of shops that cater to those with their own drummer, bake/tea shops with homemade items. A variety of places with very good food as well as places to sit and look at the art throughout the building. Worth at least one visit, but bet you go back for more.
