Very friendly staff, mostly volunteers who care about the history of their area make this happen. Nice collection of local art, goods, firearms, and representation of early life in this very historic area. The library is an excellent resource and working hard to preserve and protect historical materials. They are also working to digitize historical records.

Very well kept museum carrying items from the area. Lots of exhibits showcasing the history of Schenectady. Wasn't busy when we went, so we were able to wander around and take photos. Would go back again, to learn more about life way back when....

I love this museum the staff is so kind and there's such a cool amount of artifacts from different eras. This is a must stop on the capital region. No small town museum has this many interesting artifacts in a cool historical house.

Fantastic museum of rich local history with excellent programs, art, artifacts and tours. We have enjoyed both the haunted Colonial and Victorian tours with two amazing tour guides. This area is one of the oldest in the country, dating to the 1600s. Be sure to walk around the Stockade and enjoy the layered history in architecture, too. Great gem in a...
