Me and my mom have been going here for years, food is ALWAYS amazing and waiting staff are normally very pleasant and nice. Me and my family went in today for mother's day, don't get me wrong, we didn't expect fast service by ANY means, however, we waited for an hour and a half after ordering our food before getting it. People that came in after us got all their food long before we did ours. The girl waiting us was named Bre/Bri and we were the only table in our area she was waiting on. She didn't come and check on us once during our meal, we had to keep flagging her down on the rare occurrences she walked through across the room. When we asked about our food and when it might be ready she seemed to get visibly upset and basically said "it's mother's day. There's nothing more I can do, it's busy" and rolled her eyes as she walked off. Again, this isn't normal for this restaurant and I understand it was a busy and stressful day, it just turned everything into an unpleasant experience. We ended up waiting around 20-30 minutes minimum each time we asked for a drink refill or something else. We had already packed all our leftovers up (we had to ask another waitress for boxes bc we hadn't seen ours in 25 mins) and paid our check and STILL hadn't received a slice of cake we had asked for ages ago. Me and my family noticed that all the other tables in the area had come in, eaten, and been replaced with new people, and then some of them still had been done and gone before we had gotten the chance to leave. I am not one to leave a bad review, and I don't like getting people in trouble, but me and my mom were genuinely upset with how our time here went this time round. In total we were there for around 2 hours and 45 minutes before we got a...
Read moreWe LOVE this place. Went in yesterday, it has probably been a bit less than a year since we have been. We will be back VERY soon. Our server...Darien. He was friendly, easy going and has a great smile. The food....as vegetarians, this place has a good amount of options. We opted for tower, which we always select. You get 3 choices ( sandwich, soup or salad, and a dessert scone or crepe.) We ordered the garden sandwich. The ciabbatta bread was amazing, and filled with artichokes, peppers and other amazing goodies, was so good I have talked about for over 24 hours and would go now, though it's dark, cold and yuck, I would go right now . I had the roasted red pepper and smoked Gouda soup, my partner had the vegan chili. Both were fantastic. We each selected the fruits of the forest scone with an amazing cream and jelly combo. I had a container of the blueberry ginger tea, it is my favorite. My partner had a cold hibiscus tea drink, which he said was good. Great, bright atmosphere, with the ability to do tea flights, and shop a massive variety of loose leaf teas and the accessories...
Read moreI love the location of this place, there are so many cute little shops to check out. Although going on a Sunday I was very confused as to where I could park since all the surrounding streets say no parking Sundays, but anyway, back to the restaurant. It was my first time at the Whistling Kettle, I took my friend there for her birthday, she enjoyed her coffee and I had a lovely lavender earl grey tea. We each had the 3-tiered lunch which was a great bargain for the amount of food you get! Some savory and a little sweet. I enjoyed my Mediterranean salad and mixed berry scone with cream and jam, however, the scone was a little too big (not the worst problem to have). I also had the broccoli cheddar quiche, which was the only disappointing part of my meal. It was a little on the well-done side and contained more cheese than egg, which some may like. I would still return there and give it another try though. There is a lot more option on their menu I'd like to try including their...
