Plate Express (Yonkers) | Vehicle Registration Services, Licensed by NYS DMV — Attraction in City of Yonkers

If I could give a negative review I would. First off, they completely messed up my registration. I was registrating a motorcycle. They registraed it as a truck and got me the wrong plates as well. They said to come back in the afternoon. When I got there they gave me a plate no registration and told me the registration would come in 3 to 6 weeks. When I looked up my registration online, I found out my bike is still regristarted under the wrong plate. When I searched the plate they gave me, it's not in the DMV records. I talked to my police friend to find out if I was driving and pulled over, I'd be arrested for having a fraudulent plate. Secondly, they overcharge the state fees. Motorcycle registration in NY is 17.50 plus $50 for title- not the $105 that they charged me plus the service fee of $65. I went with the service free because I wanted my registration and tags in a hurry. I wish I realized how much they were overcharging. I paid over 300 dollars to have a quick turn around on my tags and now I have no idea when I'll the correct tags. I wish I could give 0 stars!!! Horrible experience!!! I called before going and was told “up to 10 business days” which is partially why I chose to go here! I went there over 3weeks ago to submit my documents, I paid and was again told 10 business days. I went back on my 10 day mark (A Friday) because it’s impossible to get them on the phone and was told to come back on Wednesday. I called literally all day on Wednesday and finally got someone on the phone to be told that my plates were not there yet. They keep giving me the run around and now I’m contemplating having my lawyer on speed dial after reading that they lose your documents amongst other issues. I currently have temporary plates as it’s street parking where I live and they expire in less than a week!! I wish I had just used the DMV drop box as that would’ve probably been more reliable. I went to this place to register my vehicle that I purchased in the state i was living in before I moved to New York. The guy insisted that I owe taxes which was incorrect according to the dmv webpage. He said I would have to pay the difference in sales tax between the 2 states which made no sense because why should New York get sales tax on a purchase out of state from a non resident? If I purchased the vehicle out of state while living in New York State I would have paid New York State tax before being able to sign the finance agreement. So I left and contacted another company the next town over that I’m not going to name, explained the situation and the nice lady told me no way do I owe tax.
