Kapok Tree Gardens — Attraction in Clearwater

Bit confusing based on the map. This building used to be the Kapok Tree Inn restaurant for decades. Now it’s the Sam Ashe music store, though if you go inside much of the same Greek classic decor remains. There is also a garden nearby with statues that apparently used to be somewhat open to the public but now is not due to vandalism. Still, there is apparently an events company that will allow private events in the scenic garden if you call them. Still a very interesting place. The original tree is still there off the highway and is HUGE...

This past year we got to photograph a wedding here and it gives total fairytale energy. This building has been here forever, but they do a good job with the upkeep of such a huge property. For weddings and events, they turn the fountains on and the staircase is so dreamy for photos. They also allowed us to come for the couples engagement session which tied their gallery together...

This is our second time here. The abandoned statues create a peaceful space to roam and relax. The tree itself is massive and awe inspiring. We found it on chance during a visit to the area, and then thought and talked about it after for a year and a half before we got an opportunity to return. You can't fathom the greatness of the kapok tree without seeing...
