went here on Sunday for the first time after they opened, as we were excited to try it being so close to the house.
Arrived and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was about half full at the time we arrived, with tables turning quickly it appeared.
Our server was pleasant, and we ordered: Chicken Fried Steak Benedict, eggs over medium with a side of cheese grits Corned Beef Hash and Eggs (over medium) with a side of cheese grits and a side of sausage gravy.
The first issue was the wait time for the food. It was over 20 minutes before our food came out, which is a bit of a wait.
The chicken fried steak Benedict was....not a Benedict. The menu describes it as "Chicken fried steak on a toasted buttermilk biscuit with a pepper jack cheese crust, 2 poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce topped with green chilles.
What came out, though was not as described above. The eggs were not on the biscuits - they came in a cup separately. There was no hollandaise sauce topped with green chillies. Instead, the chicken fried steak had a small amount of sausage gravy on the top. The eggs were also not over medium, and were actually over hard -- my husband got 2 hardboiled(poached) eggs for his Bennie.
he sent the eggs back and asked for new over medium eggs, which was another 10 minute wait while the rest of his food got cold, and while they were not over medium when they came out, at least they weren't hard cooked yellow chalky yolk.
My founders hash and eggs --- my eggs were cooked over medium, and also served separately in a little glass ramekin like my husband's were. The hash as described on the menu is: founder's recipe corned beef hash with potatoes, onions, special spices, served with 2 eggs.
This was the oddest corned beef hash I have ever had. It was thin and fried and rolled up, like a crepe. There were no discernible potatoes, onions, or special spices. It was a very bizarre hash.
The cheese and garlic grits were okay, but quite thin as far as grits go.
As we were leaving, we noticed that other folks had Benedicts that were actually constructed as they should be (bread, meat, egg, sauce) vs my husband's which was a deconstructed something or other.
Our bill, including tip, was close to $60 for 2 folks eating. I was not overly impressed with the food and not sure how 2 meals as simple as ours were (with no modifications, mind you) were so completely wrong.
On the upside, our server was very nice.

Read moreI went to this restaurant during grand opening. The toast is really good. I had one issue where I ordered a skillet and it said on the menu it is supposed to come with salsa and sour cream. The server never checked on us until it was time to give us the receipt. When I told her that I was missing those two items she said that in the past 5 months of her working here she was never given that out and if she got me any shed have to charge for it, but she would go check the menu. The server never checked/ came back to us after that but said bye as we left. I double checked the menu on my way out and I was correct. They were not busy when I was there. I would try the restaurant again the food is good the Tomato they have with the steak and eggs taste good. The servers seem to still not know the menu well so double check what you order when it arrives to your table. I also think the Skillets need to come with some kind of side like the toast. I left still hungry the portion for the skillet was not that big and it was equivalent price to a bigger size breakfast however the bigger size portion breakfast has less flavor going on than the skillets so you just have to choose if you want more food or something with more flavor. I paid extra to order for a side of Pancakes since the skillet came...
Read moreWent here for our Sunday Brunch with family. Easy to find, lots of parking. Were seated right away and brought menus. We were brought drinks while we browsed the menu. My granddaughter opted for the Chicken and Waffles, my youngest daughter ordered the Cheese Omelet with potatoes, my wife had the Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Eggs and Bacon, and I picked the Texican Bowl with eggs, cheese, sausage, chorizo and jalapenos. I really needed to try something besides my usual gravy & biscuits and this looked good.
We chatted for a bit and our meals came piping hot. Granddaughter loved hers, it came with large chicken tenders and fluffy waffles. Daughter also really enjoyed her omelet and potatoes (no adventurer there). My wife's pancakes looked so amazing, I had to grab a bite, like everyone else, before they disappeared! My Texican Bowl was excellent, tender, flavorful and spicy - but I did add some hot sauce.
Food was great, service was fantastic, ambiance was casual and quiet. We could actually talk, umm except when chewing of course. A delightful place for breakfast or brunch....
