It’s a gorgeous park, simple trails with beautiful scenery of the lake, forest, high trees, we saw turtles and a gator, my kids loved it. Although I’m giving it only 4 stars because part of the trail was closed for some reason. Don’t go Ima. Really hot day in a drought because the trees don’t have much shading on the trails and I got a little sunburnt. Other than that it was a really nice walk with tons of nature and wildlife. I do think it’s needs some maintenance as there was a lot of graffiti on some of the landings looking over the lake but it is what it is! Doesn’t bother me too much but it does look out of place. If your kids love trails and boardwalks as much as mine, definitely check it out!

Entrance Fee: Free Basic Needs: No bathrooms, one water fountain at the beginning of this entrance How well-maintained: Very well maintained Amount of people: Few, mainly dog owners or runners. How quiet it is: Very quiet Unique: Connects to a bunch of other trails and parks, turtles at the overlook place/trails size: Massive, wide enough to fit 4-5 people shoulder to shoulder Seating: Lots of benches to use in some areas, not as many in others. Whats allowed: Dogs, biking, saw some kayakers, no cast net fishing Bugs: Very little bugs Amenities: Boardwalks, bridge overlooks, some golf frisbee nets. Overall opinion:Nice walkibg trail, saw some beautiful views, not much else to say.

Great place for walking, biking, and picnics! Not sure if biking is permitted on the boardwalk, use caution there are riders. Beautiful boardwalk over the wet lands for bird watching, and wildlife viewing. Just get out and relax and enjoy a good book, long talks, or grab your yoga mat! Kapok park is part of the Ream Wilson trail which spans 6.5 miles from start to finish. Enjoy beautiful sunrises or sunsets while enjoying nature at best. Please be COURTEOUS when BIKING or on roller blades, FOOT TRAFFIC has the RIGHT OF WAY when SHARING THE ROADWAY/PATHS. ANNOUNCE yourself! It DOES MATTER.

Nestled by the bay and south of Safety Harbor, Kapok Park is one of 5 cluster of parks that all connect together. This park has something for every age who enjoy being outdoor and in nature. The running, biking, walking paths are well paved and maintained, the boardwalks are beautiful and spacious for off-path exploring, the grassy areas are well maintained. Kapok Park also offers frisbee golf course that winds through the park as well the small island onto the it's lake. There is ample parking on both ends of the park. The animal life (turtles, alligators, and other smaller residents) are not shy to show themselves and seem to be not shy of people who respect their habitat. The trail can be enjoyed as a short trip around the park or as a longer connects path of all 5 parks that stretches for 6+ miles as a whole. The boardwalk leads through pond and marsh. The pond is lined with tall there's some evergreen and some that show the color change in cold weather. The park offers seclusion from the city noise while allowing for a sense of escape into the nature for a...
