Starbucks — Restaurant in Clearwater

I’ve never had a worse experience at a Starbucks. My friend and I came in to focus on some work—something we’ve done at many Starbucks locations before without any issue. But from the moment we walked in, we were met with unnecessary hostility from an employee named Will.

He aggressively told us we had to buy something or we’d be kicked out. He repeated this multiple times with an obvious attitude, even though we weren’t causing any trouble—we were literally just sitting quietly and working. I later looked it up and found that Starbucks as a company doesn’t even have a rule like this—it’s just this location’s own policy, enforced with zero professionalism or grace.

To avoid conflict, I ended up ordering something, even though I wasn’t thirsty. And even during the purchase, Will continued to treat us with unnecessary rudeness. No smile, no basic courtesy—just pure attitude. It was genuinely uncomfortable.

This experience completely ruined the atmosphere. We came here expecting the usual welcoming Starbucks vibe and instead were met with a power-tripping employee who made us feel unwelcome from the second we stepped in.

Absolutely disappointed. Won’t be returning to this location, and I hope management seriously considers how they’re training staff—especially when it comes to interacting with customers...

The absolutely amazing ladies on the morning shift from at least Monday to Friday that I see every morning before work are truly the most amazing staff out of any place I’ve ever been. They are so kind and attentive and make my drinks and food perfectly every single day. Not only that, but they make you feel valued and like an individual instead of a number or an order. My favorite part of the morning is going inside and seeing my favorite people before a long day of work. I actually drive past another Starbucks AND my work to go to this one specifically. The midday crew is also amazing. I just only see them through the drive-through, but the people I always deal with in those situations are also truly amazing. This is a really nice Starbucks by far compared to many others I've been to over the years. Fast service-usually never any long lines to order. They have a drive-thru. I hear they recently re-opened after major remodeling. They nailed it with the cushion seats and non-sticky matte finish on the tables. They are so smooth and easy to wipe off if you've got spray in your pocket. I love the super roomyness of the place and comfy padded seats.

The outdoor seats are shaded from the sun after noon under the front entrance roof overhang and they are jumbo removeable-cushion patio chairs, which is really nice and unheard of at other Starbucks stores. There's always great music playing in the indoor dining area. Only thing indoors is that ceiling lights are too bright. If they dim the lights a quarter turn down, they could save a ton of money on...
