Read moreIts NOT a bad place but "tii" was there MAY 4th, its barely out of April. Even with the crazy weather swings we get, early May is NOT a fair assessment of Edgewater.
Relatively clean considering the number of people that go there. BIG mix of people. Most are friendly, some are just plain stupid. There are 2 ice cream stores that make shakes, sundaes, and typical pizza, burgers, hot dogs and fryer food.
There used to be a place to rent bikes but that is gone now. Its a shame but next to this is the steel pier that goes maybe 100ft over Lake Erie. This area is SEVERELY under developed. It is still very nice and green.
The top level of Edgewater has a tiny play ground, what I believe to be a rent able pavilion, rest rooms, and a lot of green space. It runs next to the end of the freeway so you can car watch also.
There's beach space that's kinda soft and kinda rocky and tiny little lake shells crushed into it. Its fairly clean and fun. The post daily water conditions but it is up to the individual to follow or go for a dip.
New tunnels are being put in thru out the park leading under the freeway to the neighborhoods along the freeway on the other side. LONG OVER DUE. There is also Whiskey Island and Wendy's park next store to Edgewater but this is also under developed. Build a cafe style place but with REASONABLE prices. The Ice Cream / Food places there are OK for 'at the beach' but is missing so much more. The pier idea is good but there needs to be more and longer out. Where do I rent a jet ski? What happened to the bike rentals. I used it once, they were reasonable.
They say change is...
Read moreA beautiful relaxing place where you can just sit and enjoy the day. You can fish off the pier with a permit and watch the huge ships come out of the port. It's so calm without too much noise... Until after 6pm, apparently. I don't mind motorcycles but the idiots on the dirt bikes riding on the grass where people are playing irritates me. Like let's just ruin it for everyone. And those that sit and rev their engines. Can we just have one place in Cleveland that's not gone to crap with this stuff?
Yes, I got a picture of a young raccoon too. Don't feed them if they pop out. They lose their fear of people and dogs attack them. They do also bite. This little guy poked his head out because some kids on the rocks scared him from his place. We said hi, took some pics and let him be when he dipped back into the little rock...
