An impromptu drive led me to discover Edgewater Beach Park in the Cleveland area, just an hour and approximately 40 minutes from Dublin/Columbus! My day turned out to be more than I bargained for. I found a place where I could get work done, recharge, renew, and reflect, all without being deprived of the gorgeous weather outside. While the temperature was a bit too cold for swimming for me, many people were still enjoying the water!
I made my way to the rocks to the right of the lake, where I laid my towel to comfortably bask in the sun and feel the cool mist of the waves splashing against the rocks. I needed a bite to eat, so I visited the convenient store that offered a boardwalk-style menu with snacks, ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, and more! I noticed a sign advertising alcoholic beverages but quickly learned that they were only available at the bar located on the second floor. The bar is easily accessible by stairs to the left of the convenient store, but I'm not sure if they have an elevator.
The bar features an open concept that allows you to truly enjoy the outdoors. Since it was early afternoon and not crowded, it was easy to secure a table facing the views of Lake Erie. There’s nothing like indulging in beautiful weather while savoring a couple of cold beers and getting plenty of work done.
Edgewater Beach Park is easily accessible, with plenty of free parking available. This place truly rewarded me with the tranquility and serenity I was looking for in nature. It may not be the beach, but it comes close. The sand is clean, and the facilities, including restrooms and the establishment, are well maintained. Since it’s the beginning of the season and I arrived early, I found the zen I was seeking.
I can guarantee that this place gets busier once the weather warms up. As the season has just begun, people started arriving around 5 PM for drinks—it's a great spot for after-work refreshments! My overall experience at Edgewater Beach, Lake Erie, was phenomenal, making it a must-visit if you are in the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time at Edgewater Beach in Ohio on Lake Erie! The beach has a beautiful and serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning views of the lake. The sandy shoreline was clean, and the park was well-maintained, offering a variety of amenities like picnic areas, walking trails, and beach volleyball courts.
The only drawback during my visit was that swimming was not allowed due to water contamination, as advised by the attentive and responsible lifeguards. While this was disappointing, it's clear that the safety and well-being of visitors were their top priority.
Despite the swimming restriction, Edgewater Beach still offers plenty of fun activities for families and friends to enjoy by the water's edge. The beach's location is fantastic, with easy access and ample parking. I highly recommend visiting Edgewater Beach for a relaxing day out, just make sure to check for swimming advisories before planning a...

Edgewater Beach in Cleveland is a great place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Erie and see the city skyline. It used to be not as clean, but it's better now that the MetroParks manages it. I have memories of watching fireworks as a kid. My father told me that he and many others used to sleep on the lawn on hot summer nights in the 30's and 40's, before air conditioning was installed in homes. You can do things like fly kites, fish, or cook-out. If you're lucky, sometimes you'll catch people surfing when the waves are big. Usually during the spring and late fall. It's a calm and relaxing place to sit by the shore and listen to the waves. The best view of the skyline is on the west end. The beach has even hosted a big sports event twice, called the National triathlon.
