Three times I have been to Good Company, and three times our family has been charmed by the exceptional quality and service. This is truly one of those amazing places that deliver on all aspects, and I think they should have a waitlist to eat here because everyone needs to share in this awesomness. In particular, I want to point out the wonderful service we had this past Saturday celebrating my son's 13th bday with a group of 15.
As a venue, I adore GC's style. They have a wonderful layout that is extremely adaptable to groups or small parties. The décor is open, bright, filled with plants and textures. I really was blown away on Saturday because we sat at the back of the restaurant and I just stared at the beautiful flower arrangements lining the wall all night. Our server Abby was fantastic! Honestly, she made serving 15 ppl look easy. Our table might as well have been 2 people for the level of attention she gave with such a positive friendly attitude.
For the food, I think we ordered all the appetizers on the menu. One of the things that GC excels at is having a small enough menu to serve super high quality food, but still offer something for everyone. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, no restriction whatsoever, they have you covered! The approachable menu is why I was so quick to say "yes!" when my son choose them because of his burger worship. Those burgers are just ridiculously good. Think thin griddle style patty with those crispy edges you can never perfect at home. At the risk of writing a novel, I wont list out every dish we had. I think we covered 90% of the menu. Every single person was pleased and commented on how they "couldn't believe they ate the whole thing", it was that good. I mean, when a place is committed enough to have an excellent baker on staff so that even their buns are worth the visit, what else would you expect? Speaking of their baker, don't tell my husband because I have a huge crush on him. Nolan also made our Matilda cake, (if you know, you know), and he was so sweet to all of the kids and my son.
Good Company, thank you from the bottom of my heart for an absolutely perfect night for our family. You will continue to be at the top of our favorite...
Read moreFour of us ate on Friday night around 7pm. We started with three cokes, the Tinga Fries and 6 Pecorino garlic wings. The fries were seasoned perfect, and the wings completely fell free from the bone. I'd recommend both appetizers. My husband and I each got "The Good One" burger and split a fries. My son and his wife each got a Plum Chicken sandwich, one with fries, and one with the fried chicken skins. I don't mean to cheapen the taste of the burger, but I honestly thought the sauce greatly resembled that of a Big Mac. That being said, my husband and I both loved our burgers. My son and his wife were just kind of "meh" about their Plum Chicken sandwiches. The chicken skins came with some kind of pickled celery, and when I sampled one of them, it literally made me wince, tasting like it came straight out of a jar of vinegar. Maybe that's an acquired taste, but it's not for me. Overall, I give the food 4 stars. There are a few reasons I knocked the rating down. The menu is extremely limited. It was different online than it was in store. We got seated right away, but service was slow. Our server was a delight, and kind enough, but the drinks came out slow, then the appetizers, then the dinner did too. Each piece of food that came out was served in a paper-lined, plastic basket, similar to the kind you find in a bowling alley snack shop. The bill was $120 for the four of us, $145 after the tip. If this meal had cost me $80, I would have been happy. I can't justify spending $35 per person for a burger/sandwich/wings place when we ordered no alcoholic drinks or dessert. Had we done that, this would have easily been over $200. I'm glad we went, we'd never been before. The food was tasty, but I can't bring myself to spend that much money on bar food served in a $.50 plastic...
Read moreUpon arriving we saw there were seats available but the hostess said they were 'resetting' and to give them a little time. Appreciated her info and honesty. But it turned out that info was very telling given once we were seated service was so poor. It took forever for someone to come by to take a beverage order. My husband ordered a beer and once that was brought over, again not timely, the server, a guy, took off so quickly we were not able to place our food order so we had to wait again. Then only my pretzel appetizer showed up w/o my husband's wings. About 25 minutes passed after getting the pretzels when I asked the server for an ETA on the wings. His response was he would check. Less than a minute later the wings did come out but with our main meals. No communication provided for the delay on wings nor for the entrees either. I had a birds eye view of the kitchen area and saw that a kitchen person was apparently needed to expedite the food orders. But he was really needed in the kitchen and only when someone else showed up to expedite did he go back into the kitchen. And then the food started to come out more quickly including our food. What annoyed us both was not not the wait inasmuch as not being informed by our server there would be some delays. Never was that said to us. Good Company, communicate with your guests, your consumers. Teamwork was evident but such inconsiderate service which is not acceptable hence the low rating. With Triple D recognition I feel they need to be much more aware, considerate and communicative when there will be delays bringing out food. This feedback is not to solicit an apology from them but rather to make them and everyone aware of our experience. Regarding the food and what we ate, the stars in our opinion are the pretzels, wings and...
