First time we went to try the patio for brunch the place had a sign up that said they were closed due to an “equipment failure”. Ok, it happens.
We tried the following week. It was open, we got on the call ahead list an hour before we arrived but still had to wait 30 minutes. We walked to the lake & around the area so it was bearable. Food was good. Patio was nice.
Took my sister & brother-in-law law there this week for brunch. (We drove in from Akron). Again, patio was closed due to a rainstorm that passed through 1 HOUR before. I went to the patio back door to ask if they were open. A woman & child were eating outside (they were apparently the owner’s wife & child). They said the patio was closed because it was so wet. I noticed the patio was perfectly dry & if we needed to wipe down the table & chairs we happily would have done it ourselves. But they were totally dry.
I asked that since we drove down from Akron & don’t want to eat indoors could we please sit at an outside table? The server said he would have to talk to the owner. Came back & said NO but we could go inside. There was no room inside. Only 1 person was waiting tables. Took him forever to even acknowledge us. We left & went to Heck’s. It was almost 4pm at this point so brunch was already beyond our reach.
Their customer service was abhorrent. I felt bad for what little staff they had working there. It would not have been much of a problem to take out orders & bring out our food. We’re not high maintenance, especially under these circumstances. The patio table we wanted was 15 feet from the kitchen door.
Nothing is worth this type of hassle. A little compromise would have gone a long way to generate some good will. We’ll spend our money elsewhere & definitely wouldn't think of bringing anyone else from Akron down to try it. It’s totally unreliable. Several folks walked in & asked if the patio was open. They all left when they said no. Can’t imagine running a...
Read moreWe had one of the worst dining experiences here. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Thursday evening. 3 of sat at a table on the patio. The number of patrons was decent, but not crowded. We ordered one round of drinks, which were good. We then placed an appetizer and dinner orders. The appetizer (dip) took about 30 minutes to come out. As we sat and waited for our food, a different server came over and told us "I'm taking over your table". She didn't tell us her name. A group of 4 came in after us and received their entrees before our group of 3, which by this time we were waiting 45-50 minutes for 3 dinners. Almost 1 hour after we were seated, 2 of the 3 entrees came out, a grilled cheese and salmon. The 3rd entree a chicken sandwich did not come out. Our waitress gave us the 2 entrees and returned to fill our water. She then stated "they told me it would be 30 more seconds for the sandwich". Well 30 seconds turned into another 25 minutes. This waitress proceeded to attend to the table next to us FOUR times without ever checking on us or to give us an update. By the time the chicken sandwich came out, 2 of us were already done with our food. The chicken sandwich was so hot that the bun and toppings completely fell apart. When she finally brought the sandwich, we asked for boxes and the check. When she brought the boxes and check, she simply stated "sorry if you felt neglected". IF??? We had 1 refill of water. We were never asked if we wanted a 2nd round of drinks, we were never offered an explanation on why it took over 1 hour for a chicken sandwich. We were never given an apology or an offer to take off the extremely late chicken sandwich. After paying the full bill of $133, we left and will never be back. I've been to a lot of restaurants and have never had such horrible service. This experience was an absolute joke. I am embarrassed and angry that I brought people...
Read moreMy wife and I had been looking for a restaurant with a great patio and saw this one on a few lists. The patio did not disappoint. The area immediately around the restaurant was cute and nice to walk around in while we waited for our table. It seemed like a well-visited spot by the growing number of fancy condos springing up around the neighborhood. There didn’t appear to be any clear parking- so you might call and get parking suggestions when visiting for the first time (we lucked out with one of the few spots in front of the restaurant).
Regarding the food and drinks- here’s the big picture- the food was good, but everything was priced $2 higher than I would expect.
I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich- one of my current favorite things to order. It was very good, but wasn’t ‘wow’ good. It was also $17. We recently went to the Yard House and their sandwich was $13.99. I could tell everything about that sandwich was high quality and it was ‘wow’ good. Near where we live is Suds Macguires. Their sandwich is $13.50. I would also choose theirs over this sandwich,
My wife’s tacos were also good, but not a reason to come back- especially at the price.
Same with the drinks- about $2 more than we’d expect.
Overall, it seems like a great local restaurant, maybe for the gentrified neighborhood with more disposable income who don’t mind paying $2 ish more for good food.
We had a great time and the food was good, it just felt a little overpriced. We were glad we ate there, but don’t feel the...
