The Edgewater Beach House was great. I met some friends there for drinks on a beautiful day. The bar staff was very friendly and their signature drinks were delicious and worth the price in my opinion. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because half way through the time my friends and I were there a group of mother's with about 12 kids came in and set up a birthday party at a couple tables next to us. I realize this is s public place but I think it's really inappropriate to have small children sitting 10 feet away from a bar serving liquor. Behaved kids are great but these kids were running around the whole place unsupervised and screaming the whole time. I get the fact that it's a birthday party but when someone else's children are screaming and running closely around the table where I'm sitting with friends trying to talk and the parents are not paying attention or making sure the kids are at least in their own area I get a little annoyed. I would also expect the bar staff to say something to the parents which they did not. I'll probably go back but I would hope the staff would take a little more responsibility in making sure everyone there can enjoy the space without this kind...

Food is excellent. I ate gourmet onion rings and a bratburger topped with two perogies and a cheese sauce. Legit.
Beer selection is impressive for a beach location. Upper deck of structure has an enclosed fireplace, wicker couches and chairs, and tables. All of this overlooks the beach for a surreal view.
At ground level, there are a couple of water stations to rinse feet and legs. Several round, bench-style seated patio tables with umbrellas adorn the concrete patio between the beach house and sand. To the right of the structure, three oversized porch-style swings hang from the second-story walkway, and there are a couple of picnic tables tucked away behind the swings to provide shade for those looking for a break from the sun.
The Metroparks did it right: they took an old, dirty, chipped, worn gem and polished it into one of the...
Read moreWe stopped at the "beach house" on one of the few days that it's actually open to the public. It was a nice day. There was a bartender. I was looking to see what kinds of liquor was available. The very rude bartender told me "I can't be back there". Hmmmm, I wasn't behind the bar. I was a customer looking to see what might be available. My friend and I stepped away and observed the atmosphere and talked quietly. Very UN WELCOMING. This is VERY SAD for Cleveland. A beautiful park with a concession area that is very unwelcoming. We won't be back. I wouldn't...
