VIP Cutz — Attraction in Clifton

This place is a hit or a miss. There are a couple of pros in there, but what good is that if they avoid eye contact when you walk in, and a new trainee ends up giving you a cut every time anyway? I give them the same instructions on how I want my hair cut, yet I still walk out with a different looking haircut every time. In my latest visit, the "barber" left the hair near my neck the same length as the top hair. I'm like what happened? Can I get a fade or something? And I was literally told he didn't know how to do a fade. Then I told him to not cut too much on the right side because when I go home and shampoo, my hair shrink and they become harder to style for a few weeks until they're the right length. I guess my voice got lost in the commentary of the soccer match playing on TV. All I'm saying is that I get my haircut every 2-3 months, and if I'm spending $22 for a haircut and beard trim, I'm expecting a zen environment, where I can lay back and not worry about the barber messing up. A hairstylist needs to understand that everyone's hair-type is different, and ask customer questions about it. I'd really appreciate it if I'm listened to. Been going here for over a year now and I can say that the rest of the reviews are pretty accurate.

For starters, these guys almost always cut phenomenally. I only got my hair messed up once, the rest of the cuts were stellar. Chances are you will not leave with a disappointing cut. Prices are also very reasonable.

Problems start with the workplace's culture. Other reviewers noted that they felt uncomfortable when they arrived, this is because no one will immediately greet you when you arrive, you just kinda take a seat and wait for someone to call you to a chair. It is definitely possible to feel out of place here and perhaps even unwelcome.

Some of the barbers could also work on their professionalism. I've heard them lie to other clients on the phone and my last barber really did not seem like he liked me. He was a bit aggressive and stand-offish while cutting my hair and interacting with me. Maybe it was my Dunder Mifflin shirt?
