An awesome experience. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff that love their jobs which made the experience even better. Learned so many cool things from the whole experience. You get to free-roam the “town” and you’re given a pamphlet with tons of information on it so you can really learn about what you’re seeing as you walk around. The structures you’ll find are authentic to the timeframe (late 1800s) and reassembled there, all holding historical significance. They also have a store with cool old western paraphernalia and fun little things to take with you to remember your trip. I think for some people it may seem underwhelming if you’re imagining this large and interactive town, because it’s more like an intimate experience to really immerse yourself into the reality of what the western US was at some point. Regardless of what you’re expecting, it’s worth going to. It’s one of those things you can cross off a list and say “I’m glad we did go, I’ll never forget this.” Definitely going to make sure I visit each time I come around, esp since they’re still updating the place and adding another whole building to really capture the timeframe. Cons (since this is a mostly positive review and I’d like to remain fair): this is a primarily outdoor experience, so dress warm since Cody can be a bit cold at times. Also, the town is one block, not something going down lots of avenues and all of that. You would need to have a prior interest in old western history for it to really be fulfilling. Besides all of that, it’s worth the investment and time and really completes the whole...
Read moreOld Trail Town is an absolute gem and a must-visit if you’re in the area! This place is incredibly well-preserved and offers such a unique glimpse into how people lived many years ago. Walking through the carefully restored buildings and cabins feels like stepping back in time — you can really imagine what life was like for early settlers in the Old West.
The atmosphere is amazing — very peaceful, charming, and full of character. Every building, artifact, and detail has been thoughtfully maintained, making the whole experience not only educational but also very enjoyable. It’s fascinating to see everything from old homesteads and wagons to original businesses and even historic gravesites. You get to learn so many interesting facts about the history of the region, the people who lived there, and how the town operated back then.
The staff were friendly and helpful, answering questions and sharing additional stories that made the visit even more meaningful. It’s a great place for both adults and kids to explore, and a wonderful way to spend a few hours learning about American frontier history.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys history, culture, or just wants to experience a piece of the...
Read moreOld Trail Town is located, in the Cody, Wyoming USA. This a kind of living museum and historical site of America where all stories represented by the old artifacts lying there. I like to see this place.
To me to come to this place is looks like to go back to the Old Wild West. Adventuring by the time machine that cost you USD10 per person, Hahaha. A kind of story since the beginning of life on earth, the world is always divided by good guys and the bad guys, such stories that we can see and hear in this Old Trail Town. As long as there's life, they ill always be a war between Angels and Demons.
As a historical site, this place is nice and has a lot of things to see. It might very hot there if you come on daylight and I believe there would be so cold at night.
But it would be good if they curator of this site, make a kind of attraction called night at the Old Trail Town experiences. Listening to the music from the salon, turn the traditional lighting system on and festival of wearing cowboys and cowgirls suite. Reminding me of the Ghost Tour of Alamo and the OK...
