No guns, just a couple paintings and knick-nacks. Other reviews talked about a basement with thousands of guns on display. When I asked the attendants about it, they denied the existence of said basement, instead they tried to get me to research my family pedigree. I told them I just wanted to see the guns, and they still said there were none. I was very persistent, and eventually one of the attendees (they called themselves “missionaries”) pulled me aside and told me “I have something more valuable to you than guns”. He then gave me a paperback book, titled “The Book of Mormon”. Wait a second, this is no museum of the west, this is a church recruitment center! I was misled by other google reviews, so I need to set the record strait. This is a very cool, unique thing. while still serving as a meeting house for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this building has a unique and amazing history. go check it out. It does have information about the history of the settlements around Cody but it is mostly focused on the LDS and the building of the Sidon Canal. The mural is beautiful and informative of the history of the church. A guide will walk you through the mural and museum and explain everything.
