This is a long review, but do read it may save you some headaches! Our family took a road trip out west and Yellowstone was one of the planned stops so we stayed in Cody before our next day travels to the national park. When booking online, of course I was looking for rates that was cheaper which usually ends up being ones off 3rd party websites on google. While I don't think this is entirely the hotel's fault I also felt a little cheated with the 3rd party misinformation online. Please be careful when booking and double check! Our initial search for lodging landed us upon Comfort Inn at the Buffalo Bill village resort, which looked like a nice lodging option. Of course, with that I booked through google, with one of the cheaper rates on a 3rd party site. Knowing that 3rd party sites usually are final and do not offer refunds, but I was so sure because the images and everything else was confirmed as comfort inn at buffalo bills village resort. When we arrived at comfort, I was told at the desk that there were no reservations for us. To which I was baffled as I had a confirmation code and receipt of my booking. The gentleman at the desk was kind enough to do some digging and shared with us that Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn Cody- Convention Center by IHG (name shown online, and are little cabins in alley way near by comfort Inn) are owned by the same folks. Of which then, I asked if he happened to have the number of that office, and he confirmed that he could find out and call over to ask. The gal on the phone, was a little less then friendly, but did confirm that our reservation was for the Holiday Inn cabins near by. Which was the oddest thing, as the number listed on my confirmation was Comfort Inn's, and I even called to make sure--the same gentleman picked up my call. We then made our way to the little check in office off to the side, feeling a little frustrated because it was late and honestly I felt a little turned off by the cabins. The gal at the desk, was not as friendly as the comfort inn staff, which was not what I needed at this point. She kind of just told us it wasn't their fault, which I understand to some degree. However I think she could have been better with her customer service as I shared with her about the misinformation and clearly, we were tired and frustrated with our booking experience so far. She wasn't initially so understanding, but after talking for a bit, she came around. Our rooms we booked offered a queen and a twin bed, which for our group size was not ideal. She made some adjustments and did find a room for us that offered two queens. She mentioned that the cabins weren't as bad as it seemed and most have been updated, so they're actually very nice. She also shared that people rave about the water pressure of the showers. Being late at night, I agreed and we just went along with what we had as there weren't much options and we weren't going to get our refund. Finding our cabin in the dark alley way was a little frustrating and took us driving around the block. When we found it, we found that parking was minimal, and a little cramped but we found a spot. Our overall cabin stay was clean, comfortable and updated. She was correct, the shower pressure was amazing! Thankfully, this experience turned into a good one, and we made it all work. I think if we were greeted with kindness and a little more understanding at the check in office it would have been another star for me considering the circumstances. Double check things while booking your stay at comfort inn in cody at the buffalo bill village. Especially if you're booking off a 3rd party site! This turned out to be good, but could be...
Read moreI stayed at the Holiday Inn Cody.||||This is one of the few chain hotels in Cody. It's also, I think, the biggest hotel in town.||||The Holiday Inn Cody is an extremely ugly early 1970s motel-style Holiday Inn that has had a tremendous number of updates over the years. Call it lipstick on a pig. While the interior of the lobby feels fresh, the overall layout of the hotel with multiple exterior entrances and an open courtyard has that dated motel feel. Rooms have been refreshed, although the bathroom feels older than the rooms. ||||The outdoor pool is nice on a summer day, but obviously is of no use in the winter. ||||The bar/restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm. Zero incentives were offered for guests to eat or drink at the hotel.||||Rooms are reasonably well-appointed with a larger newish TV, Keurig coffeemaker, microwave and refrigerator. There are also a good number of accessible USB and electrical outlets. Lighting in the room is extremely poor and involves multiple light switches and lamps. There's no overhead lighting. No bottled water is offered in the guest room.||||In the bathroom, the individual toiletries have been replaced with wall-mounted dispensers containing hand wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No bar of soap is provided. ||||Supposedly, the hotel offers dry cleaning and laundry services. I didn't use this service. I don't think the bar/restaurant offers room service. I didn't see anything promoting it. There also weren't any menus in the room. Also missing from the room was a hotel directory.||||Housekeeping did a good job. Outside the walk-in shower, the room was very clean. The walk-in shower showed signs of neglect with visible mold and mildew. ||||Wifi is slow. It was faster to use my cell phone as a hotspot. ||||The location is excellent as it's within walking distance of pretty much everything in downtown Cody.||||No newspapers in the lobby.||||Zero IHG elite status recognition. No complimentary bottle of water offered at check-in and no upgrade of any kind. ||||Some of the doors at exterior entrances from the parking lot were propped open, which is a security issue as anyone can access guest room floors.||||All things considered, the Holiday Inn is a tired motel-style hotel that is below what you expect of a Holiday Inn in 2024. It's an acceptable value at $100-$150 per night, but at $200+ per night I would stay at the Best Western Premier Ivy...
Read moreI spent a couple of nights at Holiday Inn Cody- at Buffalo Bill Village with my spouse & grandchild. The hotel is beautiful! I was very impressed by a message from the manager on duty welcoming us to the hotel on our first night. We ate a few times at QT restraunt on premises (children eat free!). It was very nice having a restraunt on premises with a reasonably priced menu. The food was pretty good as well as the service. We were given some coupons when we checked in for a free cocktail for each night we stayed. Free breakfast is not offered but we did recieve a coupon for 1 free muffin and juice. Our room was very large and the bed was so comfortable with a night stand on each side of the king size bed. We used a roll away bed for our grandchild and we still had plenty of room to move around. We did have to move the arm chair and ottoman to make room for the the bed. We both loved the lighting on the side of the bed. There was a stationary lamp and a second reading lamp on the end of an adjustable goose neck which could be postiioned to read without disturbing others in the room. The desk was very large with a section that pulled out for extra room making a two teir work station. The adjustable rocking desk chair was so comfortable. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave oven and a huge bathroom with a walk in shower. The bathroom was stocked with all the amenities you would need including blow dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, mouth wash, make up remover, sewing kit, vanitiy set and shoe shine sponge. The outdoor swimming pool is gated and has plenty of chairs and tables with umbrellas. Towels are provided at the pool. There is a very nice gift shop on location. Mention that you are staying at the hotel and you get a discount. The staff at the giftshop were so friendly and went out of their way to be extremely helpful in recommending attractions and finding the perfect gifts for friends and family. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cody. Also take the Cody Trolley tour- they can pick you up/drop you off at the...
