I really wanted to love this indoor play space, it's such a great concept and has so much potential! The play structures themselves are fun and visually appealing, and at first glance, the space appears clean and well put together.
Unfortunately, our experience wasn't quite what we hoped for. The owner greeted us upon arrival, which was nice to see the owner is hands on, but the interaction felt a bit aggressive and unwelcoming as though there were more important things going on. It set an awkward tone for the visit, especially since this was our first time there.
As we explored more of the space, it became clear that while surface-level cleaning is done, some of the deeper maintenance (especially inside the play structures and baby area) seems to be overlooked. What was most concerning to me as a parent of a baby was the infant/toddler area. While there is a sign that shoes aren't allowed, it's not enforced at all. We saw multiple people walk through with shoes, and the space was not cleaned afterward (even though employees were actively cleaning the play floor and saw it happen) It made me uneasy letting my little one crawl and play in an area that's meant to be a safe, clean zone for the youngest kids.
This place really could be a great local gem with more attention to cleanliness and a more welcoming vibe at check-in. I hope to see it improve!!
Edit to add: I appreciate the reply, but I have photos showing built-up dirt inside the play structures and baby area, and even the costumes looked unwashed, proof deeper cleaning isn’t happening as described. The owner, Ashley, was also quite aggressive during our visit, which wasn’t addressed in this response. Policies only matter if they’re actually followed, and based on my visit and hearing from other moms who’ve had very similar experiences and concerns, I don’t plan to return. But...
Read moreMy kids are age 3 and 5 years old and this is an enjoyable outing for the entire family. I'm a huge fan. Because of the size and layout of this place, I can easily keep a good eye on both of my kids from a seated position which is a rarity. I like their 3 hour play sessions and there is plenty to do to keep my kids busy for the 3 full hours.
Tip: AC was blasting and chilly both times I was there so if you're always cold like me, bring a sweater. Also make a reservation online ahead of time since they limit capacity.
Pros: Very clean including hand wash stations when you walk in. -Great set up- it is pretty easy to sit back from a bench or table and watch your kids unless you have a really little one that you need to be on top of. Infant area that is completely blocked off and no shoes allowed. Nice size reading area that is separated from the play area. Capacity limit so it never feels overly crowded. I've been there on a Saturday morning and also a weekday morning and it never felt too crowded. Allergy friendly table. Having a kid with 10 food allergies, I appreciate this. I haven't been to a birthday party here but got a tour of their rooms. There is a nice selection of rooms to have a party. Quiet room for kids who may get overestimated. Nursing room. Love that my kids are using imaginative play.
Cons: Hmmm. Can't think of any. Maybe a sibling discount...
Read moreMy 4 year old and I have visited Barn Yard 3 times so far and will definitely be back. It is a very unique and fun place for children. I saw children from infants to about 9 years old enjoying the fun! My daughter loves playing both independently and with other children while at The Barn Yard. She literally can’t get bored here. There are several child size buildings to play in such as a super market, veterinarian’s office, barn, house, fire station, and stable. While I say “child size,” I realize adults can fit in all the buildings as well! My daughter likes to play make believe in one building at a time OR sometimes she makes up a whole story involving multiple buildings. It is really fun to watch her get so into it! The Barn Yard offers the perfect opportunity for children to use their imagination both individually or with other children who are there. It is simply adorable to see the children “grow and harvest a garden” with other children. As a parent, I have witnessed imagination, cooperation and pure joy with our experiences at The Barn Yard. In addition, I love how clean the facility is! I highly recommend The Barn Yard! My daughter is always...
