Interesting historic mansion! Civil war era and Ms. Wendy gave a fine tour of the mansion for 1 hour. It's very worth to see the great magnolia tree in the backyard. It's the second largest one, of its kind, in the world! Wow! Planting some violets will be an interesting idea to befit its name! If you are in that area, I recommend a visit. It's all Free!

A great place to explore the the local history of the war between the states. A wounderful display of 1860's era artifacts and items of Civil war. The Present Day Violet Bank was the headquarters for The General of the Northern Army of Virginia General Robert E. Lee

Went with a few friends back in 2009. Really interesting. My friends and I had heard that the museum was haunted. I didn't believe it but the group of friends I was with did so we decided to go. We may have been seeing things but we all saw a lady in a white dress looking out the window. She looked like a ghost. We all got scared. Maybe we were just seeing things I don't know but we all saw her at the same time. Last time I went I saw her again. Why was she there. Was she just somebody that worked there or was she really a ghost. Spooky...

This was my second time here. As before, came with out of town visitor. Highly recommend, the curator of the museum loves her job and it shows, she had many interesting stories and is very knowlegeable not only about the house but in history in general. There is lots of memorabilia inside to look and marvel at. But the most amazing and beautiful item is just outside the front door, the very large cucumber tree, hundreds of years...
