My first and likely last visit to 'At Home' was a huge disappointment. Mostly due to really bad customer service. Selection is huge, prices range from average to overpriced on most items. Finally found a bookcase I wanted. Took forever to get any help finding the box matching display item. Employee finally came over & found the boxed matching item. I asked why the price was $10 higher then price tag on display item. He gave a smug response - "Guess they hiked up the price". Then he said I could have the display item but not the boxed ones for the same price. As a huge bookcase wouldn't fit into my car I declined but pointed out that it was a form of false advertising to have price shown on display item lower then price tag on same item boxed. His answer was "I know thats why I'm letting you have the display for that price" with an attitude like he was doing me a favor while repeating 'I CAN'T give you that price for the boxed item". Didn't catch this employees name but he reminded me of Piper's chubby, hairy pothead brother from the show Orange Is The New Black - only dumber & more obnoxious. Doubt he was a supervisor or manager but I didn't feel like asking for one as long as it took to find any 'help' in the first place. Common sense and decent customer service would not have a display item at one price then turn around and try to charge you a hiked up price. I ended up not purchasing the bookcase I wanted but something smaller. I regret spending any money there at all, especially when I found the exact same item for $15...
Read moreThey have absolutely EVERYTHING you can imagine for home decor which Is why I didnt give them a 1 star. I shop a lot, especially for decor and had heard a lot about this place. I thought it was a discount store which it certainly is not but none the less I thought I'd found a great clearance item. I had gone in to find a chair. The chair I brought to the register had TWO clearance marks on it. I also had a rug, side table, blanket and 5 throw pillows I had found along the way. When I get to the register, the chair that was clearly marked clearance twice, rang up full price. I showed the cashier where it very clearly (both with a redline mark and clearance sticker) stated it was 50% off. Asked if a manager could help and was told it also had to ring up at that price for it to be valid and basically tough. I left the other $250 worth of decor in the cart and walked out. I literally went down the road and paid twice as much for a chair and accessories and felt fine about it because that was a bait and switch and I won't have that. The lady at the register next to me also walked out because if a similar situation. I bet they let $500 worth of sales walk our the door in 1 minute flat over bad business practice. That was my first and last time in...
Read moreThe one in Lonetree is much better organized and much cleaner. Everything here was really disorganized. Things mixed together. In the wrong place. No carts available. Things missing from shelves. Items out of stock. It felt more like a Wal-Mart and Big Lots had a baby. Drove to the one in Lonetree and got what I needed.
*Update 4/15/22. Decided to give this place a second chance. Again no carts available. Still filthy. Why is everything so dirty??? Floors are disgusting. The restrooms look like they have never been cleaned. After walking around again asking myself "why am I here?" and only finding a couple of things that I was looking for, I went to check out. There was a line of customers 9 people deep with one cashier. Other employees kept offering to come over and help her and she just kept telling them "I'm actually fine and don't need help". Thanks for not accepting the help! After the long wait, I was ready to check out and leave. In my hurry I didn't realize until I got home that I was overcharged $17.99 for an item that was marked $14.99. I get that it is only $3 but it was kind of the icing on the cake. Just the thought of experiencing all of that a third time, makes me cringe. Enjoy the extra $3.00. It's the...
