I asked the wait staff if we could sit down at the Korean BBQ table and we were ignored. The waitress acted like she did not understand what we were saying even though we showed her pictures. Then a homeless man came in and started yelling in the middle of our dinner. It's not really their fault but nonetheless it was not taken care of like it should've been. Then a man who look like the owner started getting into an argument with one of the patrons and kicked him out of the restaurant. Very horrible experience overall in this restaurant and the food wasn't even that good.

Edit: 3/6/2024-In response to the recent owner’s post, this post I wrote was from probably 10 or more years ago when I had dinner with my buddies so they can vouch for everything I said before. I am not sure if there is new management since then or if there have been changes but the story is completely true. I haven’t been there in a long time so if anyone wants to partake in this restaurant, please feel free. When I was there, I saw multiple Korean bbq tables and we requested one but were ignored. I really believe the waitress was being lazy or they were not prepared to operate any of their grills so she pretended like she did not understand what I was saying. I did not enjoy the food, the homeless man was an issue because he was mentally disturbed (not the fault of management), and the older bald gentleman with glasses, who I assumed was the owner at the time, got into an argument with another patron which was the nail in the coffin. I think the disagreement was over the card game they were playing in the middle of the store. Perhaps they were gambling, I really don’t know because the argument was in Korean so I was not sure what happened. With all that being said, I am not going to remove this rating because it is true. I hope this establishment has improved in the last...

Too many Korean restaurants see success and fall into the American mentality of sending out food as quickly as possible. This results in many of the once-wonderful restaurants becoming lackluster.

Shin Sa Dong is a gem. I ordered the sundaeguk (순대ꔭ) and proceeded to wait. I wasn't timing anything but I would estimate that at around 15 minutes I realized that I was likely in for a treat—long wait times in Korean restaurants have almost always guaranteed fresh, hot, well-prepared food. This (in my opinion) difficult-to-make soup was no exception. I was truly thrilled at what I got.

The restaurant has a simple, no-frills atmosphere and staff that are quick and to the point. While I do enjoy engaging in some conversation with staff, I don't go to restaurants for that, nor do I care about (as one other reviewer did) whether or not my drink is refilled fast. I care about responsive service revolving solely around the food. I loved the quality. There was no bad taste from the 순대ꔭ, which means that they properly prepared the intestines and everything blended together in a wonderful bowl with what I feel was the right amount of vegetables and meat. The broth was fantastic as well.

I truly enjoyed my meal here and will bring my oldest son back to enjoy a bowl of ëč„ëč”냉멎, his favorite meal as of late.

Hats off to the owner, staff, and especially the kitchen. You've impressed the least Korean-looking Korean that may ever set foot in your...

Shin Sa Dong has been my go-to Korean restaurant for years, and it continues to exceed my expectations every single time. The food is an absolute delight—authentic, flavorful, and consistently prepared to perfection. Whether it’s the sizzling grilled meats, hearty stews, or the incredible selection of banchan, every dish feels like a celebration of Korean cuisine.

What truly makes Shin Sa Dong special is the owners. They are always present, welcoming guests with genuine warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like part of their extended family. Their dedication and passion for what they do shine through, not just in the food but in the entire experience.

The staff, much like the owners, deliver impeccable customer service—attentive, friendly, and committed to ensuring every visit is memorable. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the people leave such a lasting impression.

If you’re searching for amazing Korean food and a truly welcoming atmosphere, Shin Sa Dong is the place to be. Highly...

Got my Korean food fix in while visiting CO Springs. Nice sized place with friendly and welcoming staff. Thus was actually my second visit; had been here a few years ago for dinner. Ordered the fried mandu, LA Galbi, and Bibimbap. Galbi was a little sweet, but still better than what I can get in WY. Banchan was okay, nothing spectacular; Kim chi was not very spicy. Bibimbap was served with the rice on the side instead of in the same bowl, thought that was odd. Maybe they do that for the patrons on a keto diet? Will definitely have to come back and try the jiggae and bulgogi!

A pleasant place to enjoy a pleasant meal. The hot barley water is exquisite. Ask for it. The food, wholesome. The place is tucked deeply into a strip mall corner but it's all good food. It was once a place where a previous owner, Yumi, would serve you directly. the place was always packed with hungry folks. By the way, the take-out orders are rather skimpy, and expensive considering the miniscule portions (you know, big bags, small containments) so, best to go there, sit down and eat. The portions are much more worthwhile.

Looking at this place from the outside, it doesn't look attractive. When you walk in, it doesn't look appealing to the eye. The devor is very simple, but the food IS ON POINT. I had the Kimchi stew and the kimchi pancake. The pancake is one of the best I've had since my time in Korea. The stew was good because ?they packed it with pork, tofu, kimchi, and sliceed rice cakes. The sides were so yummy as well! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this little diamond in the rough.
