Edit: I went back to try the Markov room and was disappointed - three stars down to two stars. We waited 25 minutes past our scheduled time to start the room, although we arrived 10 minutes early. Another group was in the room until about 10 minutes past our scheduled time, and then the room had to be reset.
Scheduling aside, the room itself lacked originality and the puzzles were not cohesive with the plot. I'd classify this room as "old school"/low tech, and progression through the room depended entirely on padlocks. Our game facilitators did not seem engaged and struggled to give relevant clues (though I'd argue that this may be partly due to poor room design). The story was held together very loosely via an awkward intro video at the beginning and a few thematic pieces scattered haphazardly through the room - puzzles felt forced and more like busy work than problem solving.
Hopefully in future rooms, they'll tap into some creativity and innovation, and clean up scheduling processes. For high quality rooms in the Springs, I recommend checking out 21 Keys, Made You Think, and Escaped in Time. Happy escaping!
While I've heard amazing things about their other rooms, Timebomb was not the worthwhile, immersive experience that I would expect from the highest-priced room out of Escape the Place's current offerings. The puzzles were repetitive and lacked the innovation and creativity that make a room exciting. We will be back for the other rooms, but I would advise newcomers to avoid Timebomb - it is designed as a corporate team building game and would be better suited as solely a mobile...

We booked an escape room event at 9pm. It sounded like it was going to be fun. We showed up at 9pm and the door was locked; sign says they close at 7pm. Ok, they don't leave the doors unlocked at 7pm, but hey we were able to book, so they must still be open. My wife calls the number on the sign and I knock on the door. We're waiting for 7 mins to finally get someone's attention (no one ever answered the phone, btw). No big deal here. We assumed the staff were just busy with other customers. We're let in and the first thing we're told is that they didn't think we were coming. No real idea what would give them that idea. We booked and paid for a 9pm slot, then we showed at 9 pm. After finishing with the other customers, the staff told us that we wouldn't be able to do an escape room. She said they weren't expecting us because they'd tried to call and didn't get an answer and that they waited until 9:05pm. Funny thing is neither my wife nor I have any missed calls, and we verified that we'd shown up promptly at the time we'd booked.
They did at least issue a refund, so there's that. However our time is extremely limited and this was the opportunity we had available to spend together with a family bonding activity.
Given all the escape room options in this town, I'd recommend giving your money to a business that actually provides the service...
Read moreMy husband and I have been to 30+ escape rooms on the Colorado front range. We wanted to take our youngest daughter to her very first escape room so she could become a fan as well. We found Escape the Place from Google and saw they had a Peter Pan themed room. We thought this would be perfect for her to experience her first escape room. We were extremely disappointed in their room.
The room is literally just a room in an office with some paint on the walls. It is not made to look or feel like you are “really there,” which is what most of our favorite escape rooms do. There are bright overhead office lights, a few things glued on here and there. The clues to the puzzles were horrible and one of them was impossible to solve because they didn’t have the correct “piece” in the room to solve it (I won’t give away the details for others that may do the room.)
At one point, the game master came into the room to do a “pop quiz” after reading a narrative about Peter Pan. Once the quiz was over, the final puzzle had to be solved, which was literally a cardboard puzzle with about 25 pieces. It took us about 20 minutes to complete the hour long room.
Overall, I felt like a horrible parent to even make my daughter complete the room. We should have turned around and walked out as soon as we stepped inside. I wanted her first experience to be amazing, but the lack of thought, lack of care and most definitely lack of budget to make a nice room was blatantly obvious.
Save your money and don’t waste your time...
