Took my almost 2 year old boy for little swimmers. We were excited to try the new water slide. He is just starting out in the water but was very excited to try new things. The new setup is much more young child friendly. While there I read the rules before going up with him. It stated on the rules a parent can accompany there young one up and use the slide with them. This made sense to me as our little one is just learning and does not have the best balance. The second time down I was approached by a life guard who stated I cannot accompany him up the equipment or go down the slide with him. She also told me he cannot wear a life vest going down as it will scratch the slide. I responded that I read the rules and stated a parent can accompany there child up the slide. She did not respond and acted like she wasn't aware of the policy. I then asked If I could speak to a supervisor and she walked away. Now I'm not completely blaming her and realize places are short staffed but some type of an explanation at the time would have been nice. It shows me a lack of awareness for response or a lack of training. Regarding the back of the life vest it was completely smooth and couldn't fathom it scratching the slide. I would think the ARC would want young kids that aren't adept at swimming to be as safe as possible. Also, there were several other little kids going down the slide with life vests that were not getting whistled at or told to get off the slide. Anyways on the way out I asked a front desk attendant about this and he stated they are short staffed and was surprised I didn't get a further explanation. He said on the weekends when they are full staffed they allow parents to accompany there child up and down the slide. He was nice and apologized. I would think the Arc would want a parent going down the slide with there young one if you are short staffed to make sure they are safe. I am confused why this isn't allowed? Also some type of signage or notice would be nice rather than getting whistled at for trying to make sure your...
Read moreInquired in regard to membership, it sounded like a perfect fit for my small family. Called in advanced to see if the child care service was closed, we got off work and planned to set it up and work out following. Was told it was closed so I double checked that our 2 year old could be pushed in a stroller by his mother while I lifted weights. I was told if we stayed from 6 to 9 with a our kid it would be a problem. I was very confused because it was almost 8 and we planned on working out for only 30 minutes. The lady then told me we should only come there as a last resort and to look for a different gym. I got off the phone and it didn't sit right with me, so I called back, I asked for a manager and a guy allegedly name Kyle, said he was the manager, he laughed when I raised my concern and immediately hung up. I tried to call back to get some resolution but he continually forwarded my call and when he did answer, he told me they don't care about the pennies and again hung up on me. I used no profanity, never raised my voice, needless to say it was the worst customer service encounter at any business I've encountered bar none. I will take the ladie's advice and will find another gym....
Read moreI’m a college student that came to visit. The staff was not friendly at all. I inquired about any student discounts. I just wanted to know if they offered one because most places do. However, the staff member looked at me as if I was asking a dumb question. I ended up paying $6.00 per day, which was good. Today is my 4th day at the facility and probably my last. The facility was just ok. They do have multiple cardio equipment which was a plus. I also liked the fact that there were multiple squat racks available. I was able to get a good workout in for the past four days. However, some of the exercise machines/equipment is outdated; there is a lot of wear and tear on mats/workout equipment that probably should have been replaced years ago. The facility also looks dingy to me; especially the floor of the pool. Also, if you’re the type that likes to do circuit workouts, you may want to go later in the morning (like after 8 am). The older crowd tend to come early in the morning and sit on machines just...
