When loading the box spring on the top of my car the salesperson knocked off my vehicle’s fin.
I had to ask for an apology. I had to ask for something to be done by Mattress Firm to make it right.
Got the apology, which was sincere. Did not get a follow up call which I was told I would get.
Got zero customer service from the “Senior Store Manager” when I asked for him to acknowledge the problem he continued to type on his computer and stare at his screen. I was surprised by how little customer care Mattress Firm gave when they were at fault. The only thing the Senior Store Manager wanted to do was get me to sign a waiver that he said “was standard for those picking up their own mattresses” yet upon reading it was really a document waiving them of damages to my vehicle. He treated me terribly, meeting my eyes only once in our entire exchange. The manager lied to me, sneered at me for my choice of a clearance boxspring (the only one they had in-store), washed his hands of the damage to my vehicle, and tried to deceive me.
The salesperson was decent (not well-trained but likable), although distracted by other customers that the manager didn’t seem to involve himself with.
Go to a different mattress store if you’re in Columbia unless you like to be...
Read moreI bought a Groupon for a mattress from this place ($200 off the cost of a mattress for $50) since I needed to buy a new mattress. I guess the store has a pretty good selection (if you know what you're looking for). The lone salesman there wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable but he did help me choose a mattress. In the checkout process, I learned that they don't carry any inventory at the store and that everything gets delivered from St. Louis (120 miles away) and that I have to pay a $40 delivery charge (picking up at the store was not an option offered). Then later I discover that you need to be at home to accept delivery of your mattress (they will not leave it without a signature, even if prepaid) and their delivery window is three hours (and I work out of town). What a pain! There are plenty of "local" mattress / furniture shops around Columbia with inventory and more flexible delivery terms. I wish I had used one of them instead. I haven't been able to take delivery of my mattress yet, and I'm hopeful that at least it will...
Read moreWent in to look at and test some of the beds advertised on the website and the experience was very poor. When I asked to look at the beds in a certain price range that are hybrid I was basically told I was wrong and they don't exist. Pulled up their own website to show them they sell hybrid beds for that price the salesperson resorted to bashing the brand stating it's falsely marketed and that's why it's cheaper than what's in the store. At this point it was obvious I had no desire to continue any transaction in store and the person made no attempt to try and salvage the situation and show us options in our price range and was satisfied with watching us walk out the door. If you don't plan on spending ridiculous amounts of money, then don't bother going here. Spend a tiny bit more than what they're charging and go buy a sleep number bed. If you're looking on the cheap, get a generic pocket coil mattress and add a memory foam topper. Just as comfortable or more so than the thousand plus dollar beds they try to...
