Nice base. The stores prices are great compared to VA. Go bowling and plan to eat there if you have a seat. Don't trust the printout they hand you its not always updated.
If you're going for a graduation ceremony, know they do not direct traffic during the peek times for events. The MP "it happens every weekend" yet they had no one out there to prevent blocking intersections and traffic flow let alone the safety of pedestrian who had to give up waiting and get out of their cars and walk. It was a huge hazard and to our loved ones. Graduation day was split into a 9am and a 10am much like family day now MP to prevent problems. 800 people gratitude at 9am those family's were trapped in the parking lot for our a hour. Again, MP was called and "would check" on it. 10:30 ceremony of equal numbers families had blocked exits waiting to get to the front for parking. We gave up and walked to get my sons bags. We were late for checking out at the hotel, but LaQuinta staff was super helpful and accommodating our situation. Hopefully, the Army can be more organized and prevent these issues...

Nothing was opened and we're not allowed to take our family member of post on Family Day. So we're stuck on this post and nothing to do not even a place to sit down. Thank goodness we found the library the staff were great.We played games at least we could sit down. Every. Place we went was really crowded. Read moreI liked it. I was here in 1980 for basic training. It looked a whole lot different than it did in 1980. There were no WW 2 barracks like 1980. This place is / was were I turned 21 and helped to make me into the man that I am today. Thank you to all the men and women that train young ones how to survive in war conditions.
