I gave the Atmosphere one star because it is Columbia Mall, need I really say more. However, the food and service were excellent. After having them for lunch yesterday I decided to come to Nora's again for dinner when I got home. I am a large man so I can frequently eat two meals. The chicken was delicious but I wanted to be even more adventurous and try the shrimp. To my surprise my the impeccable "taste consultant" Olivia was there. I think I spelled her name wrong in my earlier review. She was wearing glasses, a blonde pony tail and she is definitely black or bi-racial. I told her how much I enjoyed the food. Asked her how do people like the shrimp here and she said that is a favorite. I again took her advice and ordered the shrimp with rice and grilled vegetables. I also got the grilled chicken salad again. Everything was delicious. The shrimp and the grilled vegetables really soak in that grilled flavor, you could taste the charcoal and the smoke, it was delicious, I can tell they use a real flame / fire grill. Thanks to Olivia Nora's has a regualr customer. While I waited for me my food I had the opportunity to observe Olivia seeing how she multitasked dealing with customers and cook I just assumed she was a manager and I was shocked she was not in a management position. My only complaint is that Nora's Kabob seems to be taking Olivia for granted and not promoting her to a management position. My word to Nora's Kabob owners are that I hope you appreciate Olivia and all that she does for your...
Read moreThis place was a total disappointment. I paid $21 for a lamb kebob and got maybe 5 small chunks of meat, a mountain of plain rice, and 3 sad little pieces of veggies (2 slices of bell pepper and a quarter of a tomato). I actually went back to ask if they forgot something because the portion looked like a joke. The guy said with a straight face, “That’s what it is,” and blamed it on the type of meat.
No drink included either. They were close to closing — he could’ve at least added something extra or a drink, but nope. For $21, I could’ve gone to my favorite Caribbean spot and eaten real food with flavor. Should’ve known by the lack of customers what to expect.
I’m glad I didn’t leave a tip — the starting tip suggestion was $4. For what? 😂 Everything was bland — the rice, meat, veggies, pita, even the tzatziki sauce. The lamb wasn’t that great, and I’ve had lamb before. It didn’t taste like $21 lamb. My expectations were clearly too high. No idea how this place has great reviews — they must be fake, or maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or got jipped, but my plate looked NOTHING like the reviews. I wish I had taken a photo...
Read moreEdit 4-29-2023: I've ordered the pita wraps for lunches a few more times, and i have to say i prefer them over Chick-Fil-a and McDonalds. The fries have also needed no additional ketchup or salt. Lastly, they make the stuff right there at the counter, so you know what is going in.
I went a little much for my lunch, but what the hell, it's tastier than fast food. Cost seems heavier than nearby places, but the cost reflects the quality. The fries, while lightly salted and whatnot, tasted amazing for me, but be warned i prefer no saturation on flavor. The lamb gyro was packed with meat, and was so delicious. Cashier's attitude was very pleasant, and able to add od my additional order of fries and baklava easily. Also the baklava was nice and sweet, but not too sweet.
Am i going to treat myself to their food...
