Last night was my first time eating here, after much promotion from friends of mine, and I'll say....I was a bit disappointed.
The staff was attentive and very personable, they were not the issue at all.
The issue I had was the food itself. First, I will say the Japchae (sweet potato noodles) were delicious. However, for the price I was very underwhelmed. I was given a singular piece of broccoli. I didn't ask for kale but had a lot in my dish. The egg shreds were very leery, as their color was a almost grey consistency. Very little kimchi and less than half a scoop of corn. I was very glad to have gotten the noodles, as they were my primary source of substance/sustenance. (I will say I'm also glad I didn't get the purple rice, the person before me got it and I watched it come out of the rice cooker. Very congealed and dry looking, almost pasty.)
I can't complain about free miso soup, but it was extremely bland and lacking. It really felt like the owner or manager was cutting corners. Nothing was like the promotional videos they had playing on a loop, nor was it what my friends had described with their previous engagements.
I wasn't asked about any sauces other than teriyaki, so I wasn't aware I could have flavor in my dish either (the kimchi did help here).
Overall it was a very mediocre experience and I'll probably frequent the Shake Shack or Ssongs dogs next time I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wouldāve given 5 stars in terms of the food quality for this place but the service sucks for store pick up, at least based on my experience today. I ordered online for lunch and my order was ready by 1:13 pm. I couldnāt make it there to pick it up until about 2 pm. When I got there, I didnāt see anything on the shelves for the online order. So I asked the staff there. I asked for my order that I placed a while ago. She told me that someone has picked it up. I said I didnāt pick it up, so someone else took my order by mistake or stole my order that was still in the store. She argued with me that it was already picked up and I kept repeating myself that Iām here now to pick it up. Itās not my responsibility that someone stole the food. Itās the store responsibility to secure it since itās still in the store premises. She said that I picked up so late. I said I can pick it up anytime I want before the store closed, I have paid for it. She finally said, Iāll make another one. I said, āmaybe next time, you should require people to show their order before they can grab it from the shelves, or keep the food inside so they can check the order when itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a large order. When we went to pay, we reviewed everything, and they verbally confirmed the correct details. However, when they gave me the receipt, it was ~15$ over what I ordered, with an error in the order. I brought the issue to the attention of the staff, and they said that it wasnāt something they were willing to fix. I confirmed that they stand by their stance, and that their error is my problem. They doubled down and said they will not correct the error or even order a refund for any reason.
This made it clear, at this store, their mistakes are always your problem unless you donāt pay. That means that mobile orders and every transaction requiring staff interaction is a potential area for an issue to arise, and when they do, the staff will not stand behind their word.
To be clear, my issue is not that they made a mistake. My issue is that they lied, then they stated that they didnāt care that they had lied, they would not even refund overcharges or the whole order.
With that policy, I can say I will never shop at this restaurant. I may visit another one in another area, but lying about the order to steal is...
