Dress Destination — Attraction in Columbus

UPDATE:because the owner lied in his response, I feel I have to update my review. I do not cuss or use vulgar language, and you never asked us to leave your store. It is also not true that we had 10 dress on the floor. We were only allowed to have three at a time, and those were hung on the outside of the dressing room door. I have a lot of pictures to prove this. We did a lot of shopping and picture taking, and not one picture shows a dress on the floor. The only thing on the floor in your dressing room was my daughter’s personal belongings, because you don’t care enough to provide a bench or chair for your customer’s things.

There was only one other room being used at the time; another mother and daughter prom dress shopping. We were laughing and having a pleasant time with them until we were forced to give back the dresses we wanted to hold onto while making our decisions. We would only have had the dresses for the 30 mins it takes to try on a series of dresses. My daughter found two she liked, so we were going to go get two more to put into the dressing room, but that wasn’t permitted. Your dressing room attendant was trying to accommodate us and hold the dresses, but you came storming back insisting that the dresses be put back out for other shoppers to try on. What other shoppers, I’m not really sure, because you only had maybe 5 in the store, and many other dresses for them to look at and try on.

We didn’t go to your store looking to argue. We genuinely liked your dresses and wanted to have a nice experience prom dress shopping, but you didn’t care. Had you let us enjoy our time, I bet we would have bought one of those dresses that day, but as it was, we found them for less money online. So, thank you for doing me a favor. Good luck with your business. I would highly recommend you amend your policies. They are not conducive to an enjoyable shopping experience.

Terrible policies and management. You cannot take more than three dresses to try on. If you like a couple of the dresses, but still want to try on more to see if you like any others, you cannot hold onto those original two you liked. The owner said he would sell them out from under you.

He was terribly rude. They staff stands on top of you in the fitting rooms. We decided to take our $400 to another store. It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered a store with such rude service. He yelled at us all the way out of the store telling us how he didn’t need our business and his business was doing just fine...

Update: As stated in my review we walked by the sign you had up. We had food inside two bags before walking into your store. Food was not leaking as stated. We have pictures of the food in the bag if we need to post them, knowing the way your staff was acting we would need proof. We did not have drinks as stated. Our mistake of missing your sign is not what this was about, it was about your poor customer service and your dressing room attendant shoving in between my 15yr old daughter who was half dressed, too take away 2 dresses she had just told me i could take back there with me. So the concern of the owners show they were more worried about the food that was inside 2 bags, then your dressing attendant coming between myself and my half dressed teenage daughter.

I wish I could give this place a zero stars. My daughters went in to get my younger daughter a homecoming dress. They told us only 3 dresses in the dressing room at a time, which was fine. While I was helping my younger daughter zip a dress, my older daughter came in and said that they were kicking her out because she had food in a container that was closed in a plastic bag, that was inside a bath and body bag, so when my daughter put the bath and body bag on the floor, they went thru it. Which she caught them doing. No way this food could spill anywhere in this store. I understand that they didn’t want food in the store, which we did not see the sign while walking in. That was fine. She left, but while she walked out they followed her all the way to door like she was stealing something. I asked the dressing room attendant what I could with the other 2 dresses I had in my hand since my other daughter was still in the dressing. She stated I could take them back there, they just couldn’t go in the room with her. I walked back to the room my daughter was in and hung the dresses on the outside of the door. At this the dressing room attendant came rushing back there and shoved in between my 15yr old daughter and I, who I might mention was trying to zip a dress up, and yanked the dresses out of the bar on the room. My daughter felt uncomfortable by this and decided that she was done trying on dresses and wanted to leave. I have never be treated so poorly by staff at any store. I will never step foot in this...

The male owner is very rude and pushy. Most of the employees were right on top of us in the fitting room....and not in a "trying to be helpful" way. When we handed a dress out saying it was a definite no, another employee said very rudely, "Well, what was wrong with THIS dress?" I asked for a female employee to help us in the fitting room, as our questions were about the chest area of a dress my 13 year old daughter had on. A polite, younger female employee came back to help us, but then the male owner pushed his way in and started to completely unlace the back of the dress. It was very awkward. He wanted us to prepay to order a different size with no return possible. I told him I can't risk the other size not fitting and being out the money. He started to brag about all the money he makes doing this job and how he knows for sure it will fit. I tried to give him feedback that he was very pushy and that it was not okay for him to be in the fitting room when I asked for a female. My only regret was that I didn't tell him that in the moment. Anyway, he kept interrupting me, so I did raise my voice and told him to please stop interrupting me. He told us to get out of the store. If he replies to this review, please know that my review is 100% the truth. The female employee even apologized to us as we were leaving. I would NEVER recommend this store even if he's not working that day because I would in no way want to support his...
