First time staying at Drury as an adult, as we had only ever stayed once when I was very young. After staying here, I really wish there were more of these around, as everything was exceptional.
ROOMS: My main family stayed in a suite, and it was the perfect size for our family of 4 plus a 1 year old. The rooms were very clean, beds were extremely comfy (even the pull out), and it was nice having two TVs and two thermostats. The shower also had complimentary soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers located within the shower which was a nicer touch than the free travel size bottles you get from other hotels. The only complaint about the room is the bathroom is quite small. If you're on the toilet, and someone goes to open the door, your knee is going to be hit. Additionally, there is no fan in the bathroom, but these are minor inconviences as we were here on vacation so we weren't spending too much time in there. The non-suite room my aunt and cousin stayed in was also quite nice, with the same amenities as the suite minus having two rooms, TVs, and thermostat or a sofa.
POOL; The pool is heated and is indoor/outdoor with the added benefit of being able to go between the indoor and outdoor sections without having to leave the pool. Really cool concept I wish more places would adopt. The hot tub was very spacious, but I do wish there were more jets, as there aren't a whole lot and they're spaced pretty far apart. Even a few on the bottom would be nice for your feet. Towels are offered in the pool area free of charge.
FITNESS ROOM: The fitness room is small, but the equipment is very nice. They offer two treadmills and two stair stepper/elliptical machines. All four have built in TVs and fans. Make sure to use the cc function on the TVs or you won't be able to hear anything. There's also weights, a yoga ball, and some yoga mats. There's a thermostat in the room that can be used by anyone, which is nice, as if you're by yourself or with your family in the room, you can set it to the desired temperature to get the most out of a quick workout.
BREAKFAST/DINNER: You saw that right, free breakfast AND free dinner. Breakfast was quite good with a very nice spread. Dinner was also quite good, although not as versatile as breakfast. At dinner time there is a bartender though and you do get one free drink a night. The drinks are amazing, by the way! Make sure tip the bartender! Staff are also very good about making sure food is stocked up, asking of you need anything, and cleaning any messes. Also, there's a free soda fountain all day, which was really nice to be able to always get a quick drink if you needed one. There's also free popcorn, but we didn't get any just because we forgot to get some.
OTHER: There's a small "market" located on the first floor with snacks, drinks, microwaveable food, and medicine. You enter with your room card, and then they charge it to your account so you don't need to buy it right there and then. There's also a meeting room which seems fairly large. The free wi-fi is very fast, and I never lost my connection no matter where I went in the building. The elevators are very slow.
STAFF: All of our interaction with the staff was very pleasant. They're all super friendly, willing to assist, and you can tell they actually enjoy their jobs.
AROUND: Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. You're also very close to Dublin and not too far from Colombus so there's plenty to do. We went to CoSi and the zoo, and we definitely made the right call staying at Drury rather than somewhere in the...
Read moreMy husband, myself, and our two children stayed here this weekend and it was literally the best hotel I've been at. All of the staff were so friendly and polite, they really were very genuine in asking how your stay was and was everything alright.
First off, the adults staying get a free "adult beverage" card for 3 drinks each night of your stay (3 single drinks or 1 double and 1 single). This alone is great! It's a nice little treat!
The hotel is very clean and well decorated inside. The rooms are exceptionally clean and they really take care of a lot of little details. The rooms are large and worked well for our family of four (with two small children). The sofa bed is comfortable and the king size bed was luxuriously soft and I could have slept on that bed every night! I wish I had the same mattress at home!
They had plenty of towels in the room as well, and the towels are nice large sized towels. They aren't those inky dinky little hotel towels you find at some places. I liked this.
Their pool is great! Not overpowered with chlorine and it was the right temperature. It's still fairly cold here in Ohio, and the water was cooler than it would be in the summer due to the indoor/outdoor barrier, but it was still tolerable. My only disdain was that we evidently chose a weekend to stay when state championships for some sports were going on and there were so many children in the pool that it was difficult to enjoy the pool. Not to mention the amount of unsupervised children, but that's not on the hotel - that's on the parents who were aimlessly playing on their phones versus spending time with their children in the water.
Every evening they offer a nice "kick back," where you can take advantage of your free drinks as well as an appetizer and "dinner-esque" buffet. I don't know if our day was the normal meal but it consisted of hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, baked potatoes, chili, a salad bar, and a chip/dip station. It was nice because it meant that rather than sending 40-50 dollars going out to eat or getting fast food, we were able to eat a nice "free" or "room-included" meal.
Breakfast was equally as nice, with a wide array of foods. Sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, biscuits and gravy - to oatmeal with fillings, cold cereals, waffles, toast, donuts, muffins, fruit, and yogurt. Lots of choices, and we definitely left the hotel with full bellies - so we didn't have to stop on the way home to pick up some food.
This was the first time we'd stayed at a Drury Inn and it won't be the last! We have definitely made this hotel our hotel of choice and will return!
I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but want to stay somewhere nice and that's...
Read moreI will absolutely look for a Drury Inn anytime I travel in the future. We needed somewhere to stay for a couple of weeks as I recovered from surgery, so I was looking for the cheapest options, like the Red Roof or La Quinta. However, I saw that the Drury had free hot breakfast AND dinner. I thought it was just going to be some soup and light snacks, but it was a full on dinner every night. Comparing prices, the Drury wasn't that much more expensive than the cheaper options, so I went with them and the free food ended up saving me SO much money. I also actually enjoyed eating the food; they have a lot of different options (moreso during breakfast) in a self serve situation, and nobody ever bothered me the couple of times I went back up for a little more. They also give you vouchers for some free alcohol. On top of this, they have a fitness room, a hot tub, and a heated indoor/outdoor pool. People were swimming outside while it was snowing, so I'd say the heat works! I can't believe how much more this place offers than similarly priced hotels. Even when I couldn't use a lot of their nice features (due to my surgery), the price still felt worth it to me just because of the free food. I felt very well cared for while we were there; the staff were so kind, and they had people plow the parking lot repeatedly while we were there. It was maintained better than the main roads. I knew I made the right choice when I saw all the snow in La Quinta's parking lot across the road; the Drury took much better care of us. They also have security monitoring the parking lot entrance at night, and the staff seemed happy. They had multiple people working, particularly during busy times, and they have someone specifically for handling reservations over the phone so that staff didn't have to constantly balance both. I appreciated that a lot; I don't know what it's like to work there, but I have a much better impression of places that seem to take care of their employees. I also felt staff were much happier than most places to accommodate us when we asked for more resources like towels, etc., and we didn't even have to ask for extra pillows because they give you plenty in the first place. In times where companies are cutting corners and squeezing every last bit of money out of customers to increase profits, the Drury was such a fresh breath of air that gives me hope. Please don't ever change that! I really loved staying here and have actually really missed it since I've been back home. It was definitely worth my money, and I'm going to recommend Drury to...
