The Nail Retreat — Attraction in Columbus

I've had work done here before and it was alright. Today I booked a deluxe pedicure to treat myself. I should have saved my time and money because it was stressful. The girl was talking to me almost the entire time I was there. I was polite but did not want to have small talk, I wanted to relax. At one point I said to her "I'm taking a mental break and enjoying my phone" but that did not stop her. She kept forcing small talk because she knew we'd gotten off to a bad start. She asked me if I wanted my nails clipped or filed. I said clipped please because I rock climb and because it's my preference. I have NEVER had a nail tech take issue with this. She clipped part of my big toe jagged and then when I said please keep going she said "that's ok." I was like....I'm asking you to please cut this. Then she says she's not comfortable cutting that close to the skin (it was not that close) so I literally asked to do it myself so it wouldn't be crooked and she allowed this. Just wild. I was not pleased with the service at this location. I came in to get a pedicure and full set. The gentleman who did my pedicure did not know how to do a fill and because of time I let it slide so I opted for a simple pedi and white toes. The gentleman who almost did my nails basically told me he could and would not do what I asked of him even though I was paying for a service. And to add, I hadn't had a full set in 2.5 months prior to coming in so my nail beds were healthy as growing well. I say this to say the gentleman DESTROYED my nail beds. He put the tips on and instead of him taking them off with acetone he decided to grind INTO my nails, you know with the tool us use to take off the shine to your natural nail because thats all it was at that point (my nail and the tip). First, they told me the price for a gel mani-pedi was $10 more than what they quoted me on the phone. When I said that's not what I was told the woman said she added the prices wrong. That's a pretty standard combo, & I would think she'd know that price, but okay. Then she told me I would be charged 7% to pay with my card. Of course I didn't have cash & was not advised of that when I made my appointment. The gentleman that removed my gel pedi didn't buff the polish & then apply acetone nail polish remover, he literally grabbed the gel polish with some type of tool & pulled it off! It was painful & it's very damaging to nails to do it that way. My fingernails are not shaped evenly & the massage portion of the mani-pedi was not a massage, it was just him rubbing with no actual massage. Super disappointing & I was charged an additional 7%.
