Great Clips — Local services in Columbus

This is a long entry, so I apologize in advance. After losing my job this week I decided that I needed a fresh haircut for future interviews. It had been two years since my last haircut, so I was definitely overdue. So I looked up relatively inexpensive places to get my hair cut and came across this great clips. I read the reviews and decided to go there. I didn’t make an appointment, it was a spur of the moment choice and I was able to be in a chair within 20 minutes. Cory was my stylist today. Upon sitting I began to explain that because of my depression I frequently will go days without brushing or washing my hair so I needed something functional and manageable; he understood right away. I talked about how it had been two years since my last haircut so I needed something that would last a long time without much upkeep; and again, he made me feel heard. Now you should understand, I’m not a picky person when it comes to my hair. I like my hair and it makes me feel pretty but I often toy with the idea of shaving it all off. So I gave Cory pretty much free reign to do what he wanted with my hair, as long as it was easy for me to maintain. Cory gave me a beautiful and elegantly simple cut and style. This is my go to location but today was just weird the "traveler employee" I just felt was unprofessional and just shouldn't have been talking about or speaking her mind on certain things especially with people waiting over an hour to get a haircut and a full lobby. When I walked in, I wasn't even greeted she was too busy talking about snacks to see I had sit down and was waiting finally after about 4 minutes and another person walking in who she almost helped her before even checking me in I said my name and asked her to check me in so if somone else walked in I would be checked in. It was a bit chaotic, and while Michelle, this traveling replacement, cut a guys hair, she said, "NFL has gotten."Sissyfied and college is all paid off. Some of the conversations were not appropriate. Just in my opinion does not bring value to this used to be great location. I got my cut by the regular great employee there but it just didn't feel like the great location I am used to. Also, a strange sign was posted. I took a pic of it. They were super friendly but the actual hair cut I received has made me cry all day. I showed the gentleman a photo of the hairstyle I wanted and we also went over how long and I wanted it (shoulder length). He then proceeded to cut my hair. He cut two inches off above my shoulder line and one side is longer then the other. He also added in a layer i asked for but it’s super chunky and not even at all. I have never had my hair this short Nor have I ever wanted my hair this short. It’s so short I can’t curl it or style it how I usually do when it’s shoulder length. My hair grows pretty slow too. I HATE my hair cut and it makes me want to cry every time I look in the mirror. I can’t go in to get it fixed either because I don’t want more of it taken off. I’m so sad and...
