This kind of pains me to write this review because I’ve been eating here for years but the quality has just gone down in recent years. Went today for lunch and found out that they revamped the menu and added a whole bunch of new stuff. Awesome! I like seeing new things on the menu and mixing it up a bit. Major problem with this change, they’ve added fried shrimp and they fry everything in the same fryer. I don’t personally have any food allergies but I’ve got family members who are highly allergic to shellfish and another who has celiacs and I was at lunch with both of them. This place has always been good with the various allergies and became a favorite because of that and after today we probably will never be coming back. Because they only have the one fryer, that’s always meant that the family member with celiacs can’t eat anything fried there but now with the shrimp also being fried in the same fryer, it’s a major headache for people with food allergies. And I get it, when you have food allergies eating out can be hard but it’s really frustrating to find a place that was safe for everyone with food allergies to no longer be safe. We wouldn’t have even noticed it if the host hadn’t mentioned that they added shrimp to the menu because we’ve been going here without an issue for so long. We had placed our order by the time we noticed so then we had the fun time of finding the waiter and asking all these questions about how the food was cooked. Another major issue we had today again involved the shared fryer, the person with celiacs asked for a salad because they can’t have the fries and then had their plate come out with the fries, they were nice and brought the salad out but my sister wasn’t able to eat all of her burger just for the fear of cross-contamination from touching the fries. I got the feeling that the owners/cooks hadn’t really figured out the possible issues that can come from frying everything in the same batch of oil.

I feel bad writing this review, because I’ve liked eating here but with the new menu change and not having something like a dedicated fryer for fries, I don’t think I’ll ever be coming back. The menu is now horribly limited for people with food allergies.

Also, the new lemoncello mule is horrible. Avoid it...

This is solely based on Customer Service: We were sat after a brief wait. Our order was taken and our drinks were brought out only to forget 1 beer. We figured it was just waiting to be picked up. Time passed and our apps were delivered (pretzels were great!) and we asked about our missed drink and they stated the drink was put in and was going to go check. Server returned and advised they were out of stock of that particular drink. About 40 mins has passed and we’re still waiting for our meal. The server returns advising she didn’t put in our order, due to throwing the paper away. So she asks us what we ordered AGAIN and advises she was sorry, the MANAGER WAS TAKING CARE IF IT. The kids food came out quickly (as asked) and they forgot a side on one order. We asked for the missed side and it was brought promptly with no further issues for the kids. Our meals finally came out another 20 mins later but with no silverware. The steaks, amazing but pricey were a good finish to the night.

When we asked for the bill, we found all that was taken off was $7 for the pretzels. I asked what happened to THE MANAGER IS TAKING CARE OF IT? The server said the MANAGER only approved the $7. Sorry not accepting that as this was a big mess up all around. The manager was requested and she didn’t even want to speak to us. The server was left with dealing with the hassle. I said what else could be done to satisfy my family’s time? She was able to take off roughly $20 from over a $100 bill. The server messed up, mistakes happen but tonight was a bad impression for a first time visit. Food was good but the management failed to step up and the service was below average. Bad enough I felt obligated to write this review. Hopefully it was a bad night and the next day is...

Kind of a fancy burger joint. They source almost all their products from Ohio so that's pretty cool. We started with the Mojo cheese dip which ones with tortilla chips. Pretty tasty. We both had the Blue Bessie Burger but I opted to have mine without the horseradish sauce, although I got it on the side and I'm glad. It was very strong so if you love horseradish this is definitely for you. I ordered my burger medium well and husband ordered his medium. Both were cooked perfectly! The Bessie comes with blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms, spinach and tobacco onions with the horseradish sauce and it was pretty darn good. It comes with skinny fries (similar to Steak & Shake). For a 2$ up charge I ordered sweet potato fries. They were perfectly fried, not too crunchy or soggy. My husband is not a fan of skinny fries but said they were pretty good. We also had a couple beers. I tried a Braxton pumpkin spice ale and it was just okay. I'm not typically a fan of ale but I do like pumpkin spice so thought I'd give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. I wish I had ordered what my husband got, and that was a Great Lakes Ohio City Oatmeal Stout. That was fabulous! We'll definitely be going back if for nothing else, for that GL stout! Also, props to Austen, our amazing server. He was very knowledgeable about the food and where it all comes from and also about the wide variety of beers. He was appropriately attentive without being annoying. We were in and out in about an hour. If you like a nice burger and supporting local ag. this...

Maybe it was just our trip, but I'm pretty underwhelmed. We went at an off time in the day so sometimes people get busy preparing for the night and mess up/burn food. We had cinnamon sweet potato fries..which were great. They come with cinnamon and marshmallow sauce on them..(like cheese fries, basically, but sweet). We order two burgers, one Mojo with tater tots and one Bonfire Burger with onion rings. The mojo was burned, like crunchy. I don't like sending food back, and especially if I've never tried it before...maybe it's always that way, maybe not. The tots were really overcooked, we saw some in the window as we left, not burnt. The bonfire Burger was good, as were the onion rings, but not my absolute favorite burger in town (competition is steep here, so nothing personal). Just a personal pet peeve..server went out and smoked while he was serving us..could smell it on him when he came back. It's better to not allow smoke breaks when servers have tables. Would I go back? Nah. Should you try it? It's better than a fast food joint, if you're looking for a burger. Just stick to beef burgers and sweet potato fries.

The Rail has been a restaurant my husband and I go to often whenever we find ourselves in the Dublin area. The food quality is usually good, but we had a few swings and a couple of misses with our last visit. The burger - I ordered it medium well - came back almost burnt, as you can see in the picture. But the wonton was crispy, delicious as was the pulled pork on it (got the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bacon I think it's called?). The housemate tater tots were unfortunately a miss this time. They had zero flavor whatsoever. None. I had to drown them in salt and sauce. Normally the provolone inside them is enough. My husband got some brunch items. The French toast was really good. He said the breakfast sausage and sausage gravy is "really porky" so only eat if you absolutely love a strong, wild pork flavor. The desserts were delicious, as usual! I got the chocolate pecan pie with ice cream and he got the buckeye pie. This place is definitely worth stopping at, just might not be 100% all the time.
