I love this store.. only make it here on occasion. Owner and co-owner seem like good people. they have a Huge play space.. they're product selection is awesome. I would give it 5/5 if not for some of the Employees...
lately a man named Travis has been working there... he is infuriating to deal with.. only half knows what he's talking about and has no customer service skills...
every time I've seen Travis his gut is hanging out below his shirt.. his clothes are full of holes.. looks like he doesn't shower.. does not seem to value his personal appearance or hygiene and I avoid him...
Usually 3 or 4 ppl working at the store.. manager and co-manager are always preoccupied. They are busy with a tournament or putting stuff out.. may wait 15 minutes or more b4 they help you. Worth it to not deal with Travis.
will be here an hr before you leave if you came to browse any card game stuff and want to buy... others usually not helpful. To compare and contrast twice some time ago.. I had been helped by a guy named chris
Chris was best service I had there... I made sure to ask his name and shake his hand because he went above and beyond..
when asking about some magic cards he found them quicker than anyone else and was invested in helping me and other customers
He knew what was in each set on the shelf... was able to suggest to me what packs to buy... I ended up buying more than planned cuz he was very helpful. he helped me think of ideas I didn't yet... he was professional and courteous
he asked what I was building.. I said I ain't an experienced player, but I told him anyways and he suggested other cards that I could use, and talked with me between helping customers about the kind of deck I was making and things I could do with it... really knew what i was going for and how to help
Normally I am in and out of the store cuz of really loud customers playing games at the store and how long it takes to get what I need...
a lot of people like to butt in to conversations like this at the store. Chris was the most informed person I've met behind the counter there and would stay to chat any time... travis and others that help the owners seem jaded lazy and are never as helpful..
Not sure why they're still working there cuz it made at least 2 friends of mine stop going.. would want to stay and play but never time cuz of how long it takes them.. but yea the new guy travis is the opposite of chris.. travis has no customer service skills ain't too bright...
still love this store... just wish they didn't let go of Chris or he didn't leave or what happened.. don't see him there anymore but he run circles...
Read moreA good friend of mine walks in on Christmas Eve (so literally 3 days ago) and tries to get his little nephew a Cyber Dragon Infinity card for a last-minute Christmas gift. This is a YuGiOh card, for those who don't know, and unfortunately, this store is the only place in the immediate Conroe area to shop for YuGiOh cards unless you're buying packs or starter decks. My friend goes in and asks for the card, and literally 10 seconds after he walks in, he texts me freaking out because of how the customers--and Rob himself--were treating him. He asked me to give him a picture of what the card looked like, because he knew he wouldn't get any help from Rob. The people that were there laughed at him for not knowing anything about YuGiOh or any of the cards; he doesn't play, and probably never will, but out of the goodness of his heart, he wanted to get his family something nice that he knew he would love. Yet here Rob is, being rude and disrespectful to a potential consumer, like he has been to me and my friends so many times; I always get complaints from people about how he treats them, and honestly, I've kept my mouth shut about it this whole time. But this time? I don't think so. He harassed someone that walked into his store looking to buy a product that he had no idea what was, and he let his other consumers treat him disrespectfully as well. On Christmas Eve, no less. I can only imagine how he treats people on regularly-scheduled days.
If you're looking to buy Pokemon cards, go to Space Cadets. If you're looking to buy YuGiOh cards, just do it online. I do so happily so as to purposely avoid the grievous displeasure of doing so here. Finding the cards you need in person is not worth the utter disrespect and derogatory disservice you will find here. This needs to stop. This does not need to be supported. Space Cadets are much friendlier, they have a supportive staff of people who are more than willing to help and accommodate to the needs of the guest (at least, every time I walk in there, which has been 37 times in the last three months), and their staff are ALWAYS friendly. It's the difference between someone who likes anime and someone who likes seeing anime women naked: one place, you'll get a wonderful experience with wonderful entertainment and pleasant memories, where the other, you'll get a pile of sleeze that is only there because it knows you like it and there isn't anywhere else you can find it without resorting to pornography...or in this case, going online and getting what you need.
This is not how you run a successful business. This is how you start to teeter down the brink of...

My boyfriend and I are new to Pokemon card collecting and it’s now been a little less than a week since we’ve hit the ground running trying to learn all about different types of cards, collecting habits, prices, etc. I believe this was our second stop and, as stated in the original review, I wasn’t feeling too good about the amount we paid for simple bulk cards. Even though we were new to everything, I remember feeling ripped off and less than enthusiastic about what we left with for $30. I shook it off and we continued to look around and MANY other shops (we’re at about 20+ now with a LOT of quickly-learned knowledge and experience) and yeah we definitely got ripped off. We actually have a place we go to now for completely FREE, brand new bulk that the players donate to help out others who are just starting or missing cards. My heart was both elated and sunken at the same time because that’s when I realized we should’ve paid $5 at MOST for what we got here. It was a handful of plain non-holos and then some holos, no full arts or case/binder singles or anything- not even a single ex. Literally just bulk cards no one wanted. For that reason I don’t believe we’d be back unless they offered a refund or store credit AND update their pricing. I’m still upset about it but at the same time that’s how we learn, so ultimately it is what it is. I just wanted to update this in case someone new/unaware reads this who is thinking of dipping their toes into the water. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that bulk should be either free or dirt cheap, no one should be charging $30 for boxed up, unwanted cards when there’s other places who give them away for free.
Original review (weekend prior to new review): Loved the amount of bulk Pokemon cards here- it’s enough to sit for hours and go through. The cards, for being sleeveless, were in excellent condition. I do think the pricing could be a little more affordable (was expecting to pay half of what it came out to), but we still left somewhat happy. I also would suggest to them that they work on being more friendly and welcoming. We weren’t greeted or acknowledged until we asked for some bulk to look through which felt a bit cold but even so we’ll still be...
